Abstract: In an imaging device, an image-sensor board is housed in a metallic case, and includes first and second regions. The first region includes first conductor patterns and first insulators constituting a multilayer structure, a first outermost surface on which an image sensor is mounted, and a second outermost surface. The second region includes second conductor patterns and second insulators constituting a multilayer structure. A control circuit board is electrically connected to the first conductor patterns via the second outermost surface. A thermal transfer member is disposed to be in contact with the second region of the image-sensor board for transferring heat generated from the image sensor to the case. The second conductor patterns in the second region include a closest conductor pattern located closest to the thermal transfer member. The closest conductor pattern is electrically isolated from the first conductor patterns.

Abstract: An in-vehicle camera is provided which includes an imager equipped with a lens, a control board on which a circuit is mounted to control an operation of the imager, a flexible cable connecting the imager and the control board to be communicable therebetween, and an electrically conductive housing in which the imager, the flexible cable, and the control board are arranged. A spacer which is designed to have neither electromagnetic wave absorption nor electromagnetic wave reflection properties is arranged away from the control board in a contactless manner and located between the flexible cable and an inner surface of the housing to form a gap therebetween. This minimizes generation of noise transmitted from the housing to inside the vehicle without sacrificing the quality of electrical signals transmitted through a circuit in the flexible cable.

Abstract: In an imaging device mounted in the interior of a vehicle, a camera module is arranged so as to image the area ahead of the vehicle via a windshield. A processing substrate is provided integrally with the camera module and includes a processing part that controls the camera module. When the side on which an incident light receiving face exists in the camera module is defined as camera front and the side opposite to the camera front is defined as camera rear, the whole processing substrate is arranged at the camera rear with respect to the camera module.

Abstract: An imaging apparatus includes an imaging unit that is provided with an image pickup device and a fixed pattern outputting section that outputs a fixed pattern set in advance and includes a control unit and a path. The control unit is electrically connected to the imaging unit and receives an image acquired by the image pickup device and a fixed pattern outputted from the fixed pattern outputting means. The path electrically connects the imaging unit and the control unit, and electrically transmits an image and a fixed pattern from the imaging unit to the control unit. The control unit controls, depending on the image, an application which requires the image as one of inputs to the application. Further, the control unit compares a specific pattern prepared in advance according to the fixed pattern, with the fixed pattern, to determine the occurrence of an anomaly in the electrical connection of the path.

Abstract: To reduce discomfort of occupants caused by operation sound of a camera cooling system in a vehicle, a vehicle-mounted camera includes a camera cooler and a controller. The vehicle-mounted camera is installed inside of a windshield. The camera cooler cools the vehicle-mounted camera. The controller determines if the vehicle-mounted camera is in a high temperature state. If it is determined that the vehicle-mounted camera is in the high temperature state, the controller controls the camera cooler to operate. The controller controls an air conditioner to provide a sound generation process to generate concealing sound to conceal operation sound caused by the camera cooler when the air conditioner operates.
