Abstract: A battery pack includes: a plurality of assembled batteries disposed in a housing; respective acquisition devices that acquire battery information from the assembled battery corresponding thereto; and a monitor that wirelessly communicates with the respective acquisition devices. The monitor includes a main antenna, and the respective acquisition devices include respective sub-antennas. The respective assembled batteries include respective projections formed thereon, the respective projections including respective conductive connectors configured to electrically connect the battery cells to each other. Hereinafter, the direction in which the respective projections project s defined as a projection direction. The respective sub-antennas are disposed. in the housing, at least a part of the respective sub-antennas being positioned farther in the projection direction than a projection-direction end of the respective conductive connectors is. A direct wave emitted from the main antenna reaches the respective sub-antennas and is thus received without being blocked by the respective conductive connectors.

Abstract: In a battery monitoring system including a plurality of battery modules each including one or more cells, the battery modules are connected in series to each other. The battery monitoring system monitors the state of each cell based on the voltage value of the cell and the current value of the battery modules. A current detection unit detects the current value. Each voltage detection unit is associated with the corresponding one of the battery modules and detects the voltage value. Each slave unit is associated with the corresponding one of the battery modules, and wirelessly transmits information including synchronous current and voltage values detected by the current detection unit and the voltage detection unit. A master unit receives the information transmitted from the slave units. A central monitoring unit receives the information received by the master unit.

Abstract: A battery monitoring apparatus includes a battery ECU, a plurality of voltage monitors, and a wireless device. The wireless device contains a main unit disposed to the battery ECU and sub units disposed to the corresponding voltage monitors. In response to establishment of communication connection of wireless communication between the main unit and the sub units, the main unit wirelessly transmits a command by the battery ECU to the sub units, and the sub units wirelessly transmit voltage information detected by the voltage monitors to the main unit. The wireless device acquires voltage monitor information prior to establishment of initial communication connection, and establishes communication connection based on the voltage monitor information. The battery ECU or each voltage monitor is provided with a storage unit configured to store voltage monitor information. At re-connection, the wireless device performs communication re-connection using the voltage monitor information stored in the storage unit.

Abstract: A battery monitoring apparatus includes a battery ECU, satellite devices each of which measures the voltage at a battery cell in response to a command signal from the battery ECU, and a wireless module which achieves a wireless communication between the battery ECU and each of the satellite devices after a wireless connection between the battery ECU and each of the satellite devices is completed. when receiving a start signal outputted before a start switch for a drive power source of the vehicle is turned on, the wireless module is activated to start the wireless connection between the battery ECU and each of the satellite devices. This establishes and completes the wireless connections faster than when the wireless module is activated simultaneously with turning on of the start switch for the drive power source. This achieves quick monitoring of the state of the battery cells.

Abstract: A battery management system includes monitoring devices arranged in a housing accommodating a battery. The monitoring devices monitor the battery and acquire battery monitoring information. The controller performs wireless communication with each of the monitoring devices via a wireless communication connection. The controller transmits a disconnection instruction to each of the monitoring devices. Each of the monitoring devices periodically executes a requesting operation after disconnection of the wireless communication connection. The controller accepts the requesting operation to establish the wireless communication connection. The controller and each of the monitoring devices perform a periodic communication of the battery monitoring information via the established wireless communication connection. Each of the monitoring devices determines start timing of the requesting operation based on reception timing of the disconnection instruction so that at least some of timings of requesting operations of the monitoring devices do not overlap with each other.
