Abstract: An electrical charging apparatus working to electrically charge an electrical storage device includes an electrical power converter and a controller. The electrical power converter converts an alternating-current input voltage into a direct-current voltage and outputs it to the electrical storage device. The controller works to control the electrical power converter to pulsate the charging current supplied from the electrical power converter to the electrical storage device. The controller also controls the electrical power converter to set a pulsation frequency of the charging current to an integral multiple of the frequency of the input voltage and also to bring a phase difference between a zero-crossing time of the input voltage and a time when the charging current is minimized to be smaller than or equal to one-eighth of one cycle of the input voltage.

Abstract: An abnormality determination apparatus is applied to a battery pack including blocks composed of battery cells connected in series, and a connecting member that connect blocks to one another in series. In the blocks and the connecting member, a first detection circuit detects a voltage of a first series circuit including the connecting member. A closed-circuit forming unit forms a closed circuit so as to allow a current to flow to the connecting member. The closed circuit includes the connecting member, at least one of the battery cells, and a diode connected in parallel to connecting member. When a charge-discharge current is not flowing to the battery pack, a first abnormality determining unit determines whether or not an open abnormality has occurred in the connecting member, based on a detection value from the first detection circuit in a state in which the closed-circuit forming unit is forming the closed circuit.

Abstract: A power converter has a capacitor and a power conversion unit having a series-connected unit composed of an upper arm side switching element and a lower arm side switching element. The capacitor is connected in parallel with the serios connection unit. The power conversion unit supplies electric power to a motor. A controller for the power conversion unit has a frequency characteristics estimation part estimating frequency characteristics of a battery current of the battery when a current is flowing between the power convertor and the battery, a ripple current setting part determining a ripple frequency of a ripple current contained in the battery current based on the frequency characteristics of the battery current, and a control part performing a switching control of the switching elements based on the ripple frequency in order to generate the ripple current.

Abstract: In a battery monitoring system including a plurality of battery modules each including one or more cells, the battery modules are connected in series to each other. The battery monitoring system monitors the state of each cell based on the voltage value of the cell and the current value of the battery modules. A current detection unit detects the current value. Each voltage detection unit is associated with the corresponding one of the battery modules and detects the voltage value. Each slave unit is associated with the corresponding one of the battery modules, and wirelessly transmits information including synchronous current and voltage values detected by the current detection unit and the voltage detection unit. A master unit receives the information transmitted from the slave units. A central monitoring unit receives the information received by the master unit.

Abstract: A battery condition monitoring device has a control section for monitoring conditions of a high voltage battery on the basis of detection signals detected and transmitted by monitoring ICs. The control section has a main control section and a sub control section. When the main control section is in an abnormal condition, the sub control section detects the conditions of the high voltage battery, and instructs SMRs to turn on and off an electrical connection between the high voltage battery and a vehicle driving electric motor. The SMRs are arranged on connection lines through which the high voltage battery is connected to the vehicle driving electric motor.
