    Abstract: Disclosed herein is an MRI machine for measuring at least a portion of a head of a patient, having at least one primary magnetic field unit and at least one patient opening. The MRI machine has a patient seat, where the patient seat has adjusting means, which are driven by at least one drive means controlled by a control unit to move the patient seat into the patient opening along a travel curve as far as an imaging position, in which the head of the patient is arranged at least partially in an imaging area of the MRI machine, wherein an adjustable element is attached to the patient seat relative to the patient seat and wherein, by means of a detector apparatus, the position of the adjustable element relative to the primary magnetic field unit and/or relative to the patient seat is automatically determined on the MRI machine.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method for acquiring a dental object of a patient with an object volume, in particular at least a part of a skull, an upper jaw and/or a lower jaw. To do so, a plurality of segment volume ranges are defined in the object volume, where the segment volume ranges overlap at most partially and directions of the segment volume ranges are not parallel to one another. The image data of the segment volume ranges is recorded by an MRI machine within a measuring volume of the MRI machine. A two-dimensional composite image is generated from the image data of the individual segment volume ranges by projecting the image data onto a target plane. The target plane is disposed parallel to a defined midsagittal plane of the skull or corresponds to the midsagittal plane, where a first segment volume range at least partially includes the midsagittal plane of the skull.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a method for calibrating at least one 2D X-ray image of an object to be imaged, which is recorded by an X-ray device in that X-rays produced by an X-ray source radiate through the object and are recorded by an X-ray detector. An already existing 3D model of a structure of the object is compared to the 2D X-ray image, wherein an actual image positional relationship of the X-ray source and the X-ray detector relative to the object, and/or relative to one another, is determined for the 2D X-ray image.
