Abstract: A medical image apparatus according to an embodiment of the present disclosure includes a main body that is travelable, a column vertically coupled to the main body, a straight arm moving unit sliding in a longitudinal direction of the column, a straight arm coupled to the straight arm moving unit and rotating with respect to the column, and a source arm located on a side of the straight arm, perpendicular to the straight arm, and including a source driving rail through which a source assembly slides, wherein the straight arm is coupled to a moving unit rotating shaft formed on the straight arm moving unit, and is rotatable with respect to the column about the moving unit rotating shaft, and the source arm is fixed to the side of the straight arm.

Abstract: A method is provided for method for navigating a robotic endoscopic apparatus comprising: (a) providing a three-dimensional (3D) fiducial marker to a surgical field; (b) acquiring fluoroscopic image using a fluoroscopic imager wherein the fluoroscopic image contains the 3D fiducial marker, a body part and a portion of the robotic endoscopic apparatus placed inside of the body part; and (c) estimating a pose of the fluoroscopic imager based on the fluoroscopic image.

Abstract: Three dimensional X-ray imaging systems are described in this application. In particular, this application describes a 3D dental intra-oral imaging (3DIO) system that collects a series of 2D image projections. The X-ray imaging system comprises a housing, an X-ray source attached to a articulating or motion gantry configured to move the source within the housing to multiple positions, an X-ray detector array located on an opposite side of an object to be imaged from the X-ray source, where the detector array is synchronized with the X-ray source to capture 2D images of the object when the X-ray source is located in multiple imaging positions, and a processor configured to accept the 2D images and reconstruct a 3D image. The multiple imaging positions can be located on a plane substantially parallel to the X-ray detector array. Other embodiments are described.

Abstract: Disclosed is an X-ray imaging device, which is capable of providing a tomographic image of an image layer disposed between an axis of rotation and an X-ray source. The imaging device according to the present invention includes a radiography unit having an X-ray source and an X-ray sensor disposed to face each other with a rotating axis therebetween, wherein the X-ray sensor configured to obtain X-ray transmission images, a driver configured to rotate the X-ray source and the X-ray sensor about the rotating axis, and an image processor configured to provide a two-dimensional tomographic image of an image layer disposed between the rotating axis and the X-ray source, by shifting and overlapping the X-ray transmission images after reversing left and right at least some of the X-ray transmission images.

A biopsy gun can be mounted on a stage arm assembly disposed below the table. The imaging system and stage arm assembly can be independently rotated and linearly repositioned in one or more dimensions, thereby allowing the tomotactic scan axis to be located relative to a breast being imaged.

Abstract: The technology relates to a methods and systems for improving medical imaging procedures. An example method includes receiving a first set of quality metrics for a plurality of medical images acquired at a first imaging facility; receiving a second set of quality metrics for a second plurality of medical images acquired at a second imaging facility; comparing the first set of quality metrics to the second set of quality metrics; based on the comparison of the first set of quality metrics to the second set of quality metrics, generating a benchmark for at least one metric in the first set of quality metrics and the second set of quality metrics; generating facility data based on the generated benchmark and the first set of quality metrics; and sending the facility data to the first imaging facility.

Abstract: A dynamic multi-leaf collimator system for X-ray exposure on region of interest in conjunction with multiple source-in-motion tomosynthesis imaging system is disclosed. The system comprises two opposite banks of thin heavy metal leaves arranged in parallel and stagger formation. The leaves are individually driven by electrical motors, can move in straight line in at least one direction and create multiple X-ray exposure holes with desired shapes. The leaves are made of thin heavy metal capable of blocking kV level X-rays. After a preliminary X-ray imaging scan, artificial intelligence or system operator can determine location of region of interest and then determine location of collimation holes. Therefore, subsequent X-ray imaging scan will be performed with automatic collimation dynamically, X-ray dose on an object or patient is then greatly reduced.
