Abstract: In a small automobile, in particular a small taxi, a sliding door on the side opposite the driver is actuated by a hand lever and motor control convenient to the driver. A hand lever controls the latching and unlatching of the door and its movement into and out of the door opening. After the door has moved out of the opening it is moved rearwardly on tracks by a motor controlled by a control member near the hand lever.
