Abstract: Provided is a circularly polarizing plate with which, in a case where a display device obtained by disposing the circularly polarizing plate on a display element is viewed from an oblique direction while the direction thereof is being changed, the display device exhibits little change in tint and has a low reflectivity; and an organic electroluminescent display device. The circularly polarizing plate includes a polarizer and an optically anisotropic layer, in which the optically anisotropic layer is a layer formed by fixing a liquid crystal compound having reverse wavelength dispersibility twist-aligned with a thickness direction as a helical axis, the molecular axis of the liquid crystal compound in the optically anisotropic layer is horizontal to the surface of the optically anisotropic layer, and the twisted angle of the twist-aligned liquid crystal compound is 15° to 360°.

Abstract: The present invention provides an optically anisotropic layer which has a plurality of regions in which alignment states of a liquid crystal compound are different in a thickness direction and in which peeling is unlikely to occur in the layer. The optically anisotropic layer of the present invention is an optically anisotropic layer formed of a liquid crystal compound, in which the optically anisotropic layer contains a leveling agent and satisfies a predetermined requirement in a profile of a secondary ion intensity derived from the leveling agent in a depth direction, which is obtained by analyzing components of the optically anisotropic layer in a depth direction by time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry while irradiating the optically anisotropic layer with an ion beam from one surface of the optically anisotropic layer to the other surface of the optically anisotropic layer.

Abstract: Provided is an optical film with a resin substrate adhered to an optically anisotropic layer and suppression of occurrence of optical defects in the optically anisotropic layer. The optical film has a resin substrate having an alignment regulating force and an optically anisotropic layer arranged thereon, in which the optically anisotropic layer contains a liquid crystal compound and a compound having a heteroatom different from the liquid crystal compound, and in a case where a surface of the optical film on an optically anisotropic layer side thereof is a first surface and a surface of the optical film on a resin substrate side thereof is a second surface, and components of the optical film in a depth direction are analyzed by time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry while irradiating the optical film with an ion beam from the first surface toward the second surface, the obtained profile satisfies a predetermined requirement.

Abstract: An organic EL display device is provided in which a change in tint is reduced in a bent portion. This organic EL display device is an organic electroluminescent display device including, from a viewing side, a circularly polarizing plate, a first adhesion layer, and a bendable organic electroluminescent display panel, in which the circularly polarizing plate includes, from the viewing side, a linear polarizer, a second adhesion layer, and a phase difference layer functioning as a λ/4 plate, a complex modulus of elasticity of the first adhesion layer is 2.50×105 Pa or less, the first adhesion layer is thicker than the second adhesion layer, and an absorption axis of the linear polarizer is positioned at an angle of 0°±30° or 90°±30° with respect to an extension direction of a ridge line formed in a case where the organic electroluminescent display device is bent.

A high refractive index layer has a refractive index of greater than 1.7 and less than 2.1 is disposed between the plate and one of the electrodes on the visible side, the plate has a polarizer, a λ/2 plate, and a λ/4 plate in this order from the visible side, a retardation RthA (550) of the λ/2 plate in a thickness direction at a wavelength of 550 nm is within a range of greater than −120 nm and less than −40 nm, and a retardation RthB (550) of the λ/4 plate in a thickness direction at a wavelength of 550 nm is within a range of greater than −60 nm and less than 20 nm.

Abstract: The present invention provides an optical laminate which is suppressed in film thickness unevenness of an optically anisotropic layer and is free from point defects, a method of producing the same, and a polarizing plate and an organic EL display device using the optical laminate. The method of producing an optical laminate having an optically anisotropic layer A and an optically anisotropic layer B, includes where the layer A and the layer B are provided in direct contact with each other. The method further includes where both a composition a for forming the layer A and a composition b for forming the layer B contain a fluorine compound, and when the layer A is formed using composition a and layer B is formed using composition b, layer A and layer B are formed in this order under the condition that composition a and composition b satisfy predetermined surface tension relationships.
