Abstract: A machine for transversely cutting logs of paper material including a cutting station in which is arranged a cutting unit including an arm rotating about a horizontal axis and on which it can mounted a blade adapted to perform the transverse cutting of one or more logs of paper material introduced in the machine and placed in the cutting station, where is arranged a loading station in which a support is provided for supporting a further blade intended to replace the blade mounted on said arm, and in which said support is connected to a mobile unit allowing it to be moved between said stations. The support is always provided with a blade-holder hub with a respective pin. The blade-holder hub is removably connected to the support.

Abstract: Plant for the production of paper logs, including a number of operating units configured to produce logs of paper material starting from a web of paper material unwound from one or more corresponding reels and slaved to a control unit that, in turn, is configured for driving the operating units such that each of them has a predetermined production speed. The said control unit is programmed to process data contained in a database individually associated with each reel and representative of defects classified according to a predictive classification based on the effects of the defects in the production of the logs and further representative of the location of defects on the web unwound from the reel. The control unit receives position data related to the instantaneous diameter of the reel from a corresponding detection means. The control unit is programmed to modify the production speed in function of the instantaneous position and of the class of each of the defects.

Abstract: Device for controlling the sharpening state of a blade (2) having a cutting edge (20) delimited by two sides (21, 22) converging towards a plane (X) that contains the cutting edge itself. The device comprises two control surfaces each of which is in contact with a corresponding side (21, 22) of the cutting edge (20) and is connected with a transducer (R4), which produces an electrical displacement signal (S4) proportional to a displacement of the control surface with respect to said plane (X). Furthermore, the device comprises a processing unit (E) that receives said displacement signals (S4) and compares them, emitting an error signal if the comparison produces a value that exceeds a predetermined limit. The control surfaces are the surfaces that delimit an external groove (40) of a roller (4) that is free to translate along an axis (A4) perpendicular to said plane (X) and spaced from the blade (2) by an amount such that said cutting edge (20) passes in said groove (40).

Abstract: Rewinder for producing paper logs, comprising a winding station with a first winding roller, a second winding roller and a third winding roller driven by corresponding electric motors, including a detection system capable to detect a succession of diameters of the log being formed in the winding station and a programmable electronic unit connected to the electric motors. The system compares the measured diameters with a succession of corresponding diameters of predetermined value and to calculate a sequence of differences between these values. The electronic unit determines a parameter (a) related to the trend over time of the values. Abstract: Rewinder for the production of paper logs adapted to guide and transversely pre-cut a paper web along a predetermined path, adapted to wind a predetermined amount of the paper web on a core in a winding station, and including a threading mechanism for threading the web along said path. The threading mechanism includes a dragging unit provided to engage the web to drag it along the path with a predetermined feed direction and at least one dragging member to engage a respective flap of the web preceding the production of the logs. The dragging unit is located downstream of the winding station and is adapted to release the flap of the web from the dragging member, the release means being arranged downstream of the dragging so as to intercept the flap of the web and disengage it from the dragging while the web is fed.

Abstract: A cutting machine for the transversal cutting of logs of paper material, including a cutting unit, at least one sharpening unit with two grinding wheels and a device for positioning the grinding wheels. The device includes a primary carriage and two secondary carriages. The primary carriage has a surface arranged at a predetermined distance from the plane of the blade and forming a surface for controlling the run of the secondary carriages. In a first step of positioning the grinding wheels, the secondary carriages bring the abrasive side of the grinding wheels into contact with the surface. In a second step, the secondary carriages bring the abrasive side of the grinding wheels to the plane. In a third step, the primary actuators move the primary carriage until the abrasive side of the grinding wheels contacts the blade.
