    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for providing playlist analytics. A method may include capturing data associated with access to a playlist of content. The method may further include identifying, in the captured data, one or more interactions with the playlist of content. The method may further include generating, by a processing device, at least one metric based on the identified one or more user interactions. The method may further include reporting the at least one playlist metric.

    Abstract: A method for computing usage metrics for a content sharing platform is disclosed. The method includes receiving usage logs of a content sharing platform, the usage logs pertaining to a plurality of events associated with content items of the content sharing platform. The method further includes, for each usage log, identifying an event associated with the usage log, parsing the usage log to identify a set of characteristics for the identified event, obtaining additional information about the identified event based on the set of characteristics, and storing the set of characteristics and the additional information as an event entry for the event. The method also includes storing metadata corresponding to the event separately from the event entry, the metadata to be provided with the event entry to a user upon a user request for information about the event.

In an aspect, event data related to user consumption of media content items can be monitored. Further, respective event data based at least in part on user playback of the media content items can be analyzed. In another aspect, pending and finalized event data can be summarized into a finalized playback record. In yet another aspect, the size of a time window can be adjusted based in part on observed logsaver latency. Further, in an aspect, watch time data can be integrated into a de-spamming pipeline.

Based on analytics and metrics derived from the gathered information and reported, feedback about playlist access patterns can be supplied to interested parties, such as playlist creators/curators. The feedback can enable playlist curators to better tailor playlist content and sequence, potentially reducing a perceived need to skip around inside a playlist and making for a more enjoyable experience for playlist users.
