    Abstract: Certain examples described herein relate to smoothing a lookup table for an imaging system. The lookup table comprises entries to map elements in a first color space to corresponding elements in a second color space. In certain cases, the entries of the lookup table are classified into a plurality of classes, each of the plurality of classes being based on a color space characteristic in the first color space or the second color space. Each of the plurality of classes of entries is sequentially smoothed.

    Abstract: Example methods of controlling printing of a halftone image are disclosed as well as apparatuses and computer-readable storage mediums relating thereto. In an example, the method includes receiving input data indicating a first colorant deposition order for a colorant combination and a second colorant deposition order for the colorant combination, wherein the second colorant deposition order is different from the first colorant deposition order. Control data is generated based on the input data. The control data includes first pixel data associating a first pixel in the halftone image with the first colorant deposition order, and second pixel data associating a second pixel in the halftone image with the second colorant deposition order. The control data is used to control a printer to print the halftone.The above amendments are reflected in the attached substitute specification shown in clean and marked-up form in the Appendix submitted herewith.

    Abstract: A system includes a memory to store at least one Halftone Area Neugebauer Separation (HANS) look-up table (LUT) that represents a predetermined drop weight for N colorant channels of a printer. The HANS LUT provides a given Neugebauer Primary area coverage in response to a device color input value. Measurement data stored in the memory represents measured drop weight values for the N colorant channels of the printer. A processor executes instructions stored in the memory. The instructions are to compute a calibration element for the HANS LUT that describes a drop-weight deviation with respect to the HANS LUT based on the measured drop weight values. The instructions are to apply the calibration element to at least a portion of the HANS LUT to generate a calibrated LUT.

    Abstract: Certain examples relate to a method of a method of color prediction in multiple rendering contexts. In one example the method determines a plurality of color prediction models for respective color rendering contexts, each color prediction model mapping between a device dependent color and a rendered color. Measurement data of the rendered color in one said context obtained and mapped to a corrected device color. The corrected device color may be used to predict rendered corrected color for another said context using respective color prediction models.

    Abstract: In an example, a method includes accessing an initial prediction of a granularity metric for a halftone pattern. A correction factor to apply to the initial prediction may be determined, the correction factor being determined from a correction factor model defining a relationship between initial predictions of granularity metrics and human perceptions of granularity. The method may further include generating, using processing circuitry, a revised prediction of the granularity metric for the halftone pattern using the correction factor.
