    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to an antenna assembly, an apparatus including the antenna assembly, and a method. The antenna assembly comprises a first antenna element configured to communicate radio frequency (RF) signals with a first radiation pattern and a second antenna element configured to communicate RF signals with a second radiation pattern. A first vertical direction of the first radiation pattern is different from a second vertical direction of the second radiation pattern. The antenna assembly further includes a switch element configured to selectively connect the first or second antenna element to a RF circuit for processing of the RF signals to adapt to a mounting position of the antenna assembly. With such an antenna assembly assembling different antenna elements with different radiation patterns, the device can be flexibly mounted anywhere as needed, with low design and manufacturing costs and good signal coverage.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to a power supply device, an electronic system and a method. The electronic system comprises an electronic device and the power supply device transmitting synchronization information from a satellite to the electronic system. The power supply device comprises a first modulator configured to receive a signal from a satellite and to generate a first modulated supply voltage, a level pattern of the first modulated supply voltage indicating synchronization information included in the satellite signal; and a first transformer configured to provide the first modulated supply voltage to an electronic device to enable a synchronization between the satellite and the electronic device based on the synchronization information. The electronic device demodulates the first modulated supply voltage to determine the synchronization information for synchronizing with the satellite. By using the embodiments of the disclosure, cost for manufacturing the electronic devices can be significantly reduced.

    Abstract: In embodiments of the present disclosure, a method is provided for managing a communication channel between a first communication unit and a second communication unit in an AP. At the first communication unit, a request is transmitted to the second communication unit for reserving a communication channel. Here, the second communication unit is associated with a Wi-Fi network that is different from a network type associated with the first communication unit, and the first and second communication units share a band of the communication channel. A response for reserving the communication channel is received from the second communication unit. In accordance with a determination that the response indicates the communication channel has been reserved for a time duration, data is transmitted at the first communication unit within the time duration on the communication channel. Therefore, conflicts between the first and second communication units in the AP may be reduced.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to variable antenna patterns. A method comprises determining respective locations of a plurality of candidate client stations to be communicated with an access point (AP); assigning the plurality of candidate client stations to at least one of a plurality of predetermined station groups based on the determined respective locations, the plurality of station groups being associated with a plurality of antenna patterns supported by the AP, respectively, and the plurality of antenna patterns providing respective radiation coverage areas; in accordance with a determination that at least one target client station is selected from the plurality of candidate client stations for communication, determining a target antenna pattern associated with a target station group to which the at least one target client station is assigned; and causing the AP to communicate with the at least one target client station using the target antenna pattern.

    Abstract: Embodiments of the present disclosure relate to automatic antenna beam alignment. A method comprises determining first position-related information indicating a first location and a first orientation of a first communication device. The first communication device comprises a plurality of antenna sectors configured for generating respective directional beams. The method also comprises receiving, from a second communication device, second position-related information indicating a second location and a second orientation of the second communication device. The method also further comprises selecting a subset of the plurality of antenna sectors based on the first and the second position-related information; and causing the first communication device to perform beamforming training with the second communication device using the selected subset of antenna sectors. A decreased number of antenna sectors are scanned during the beamforming training, which can reduce the time overhead and facilitate the devices to find the best beam efficiently.
