Abstract: Wireless charging, such as that conducted according to standards formed by the AirFuel Alliance and/or various other industry standards for wireless charging, can cause interference with data transfer on a cellular modem of a mobile device. Systems, devices, and methods herein provide power breaks where a power transmitter unit (PTU) will stop generating an electromagnetic field used to charge a power receiver unit (PRU). During the power break, the mobile device can send or receive data over the cellular modem with less or no interference from the wireless charging operations. If the PTU cannot provide a power break, the PRU de-tunes a receive resonator circuit in the PRU to mitigate the interference from the wireless charging operations. Further, the power breaks can also be used by PTUs to scan for near field communication (NFC) tags or devices that could be damaged by wireless charging activities.

Abstract: Techniques for powering up a wireless power receiving device are described herein. An example computing device includes a power receiving unit to wirelessly receive power from a power transmitting unit. The platform hardware includes a System on a Chip (SoC), a multicomm device, and a power sequence manager. The multicomm device is for wireless communication with two or more communication standards. One of the communication standards is used as a side channel for communicating with the power transmitting unit. The power sequence manager component manages activation of platform components of the platform hardware during a low battery cold boot condition. Upon detecting wireless power, the multicomm device is configured to automatically activate and the power sequence manager component is to suppress activation of other platform components of the platform hardware.

Abstract: A load modulation circuit includes a resonator circuit configured to resonate based on a received charging power and produce a resonance output signal based thereon, and a rectifier circuit configured to receive the resonance output signal and convert the resonance output signal to a rectified voltage signal. The load modulation circuit further includes a sensor circuit configured to sense the rectified voltage signal and generate a control signal based on the rectified voltage signal and a target power range associated with a change in conducting power of the load modulation circuit during a load modulation. Lastly, the load modulation circuit includes a controllable current source circuit configured to generate a controlled current based on the control signal, wherein the controlled current modulates a load of the load modulation circuit while concurrently maintaining a change in total conducting power at an output of the rectified circuit within the target power range.
