摘要: Epidemiological modeling and simulation includes generating a virtual representation of a predetermined geospatial region by communicating in real time via a data communications network with a plurality of sensor-endowed computing nodes that capture and convey sensor-generated data in real time to the networked computer. A causal network is derived for mapping biodata onto inferences regarding pathogenic vector dynamics of a known pathogen based on stochastic vector probabilities. The biodata can be culled from historical data associated with the predetermined geospatial region. A visualization of selected characteristics of the predetermined geospatial region is generated and a corresponding epidemiological model created based on the historical data. Sensor-generated data and historical data are correlated. An expected effect of the known pathogen on a population of the geospatial region is predicted using a model simulation based on correlating the sensor-generated data and historical data.

摘要: Provided are techniques for thermally efficient route selection. A request is received for a route for a vehicle to travel from a first geographic location to a second geographic location. Route data is retrieved for each of a plurality of routes, where the route data includes, for each portion of each route at a given time and day, air temperature adjacent to a road surface. Vehicle data is retrieved for the vehicle, where the vehicle data includes a desired temperature of an item being carried and a desired inlet air temperature. The route from the first geographic location to the second geographic location is determined using the route data and the vehicle data, where the route is thermally efficient. The vehicle is directed along the route, where the route specifies a lane from a plurality of lanes of a road for each portion of the route.

摘要: Aspects of this disclosure include a method for proactive cooling, a vehicle, and a computer program product for a proactive cooling system. One embodiment of the method may comprise creating a machine learning model of a physical object, and instrumenting the physical object with sensors to generate real-time data about the physical object and its operational environment. The method may further comprise generating, with the machine learning model, a predicted future temperature for the physical object using the real-time data about the physical object and its operational environment, and in response to the predicted future temperature exceeding a threshold temperature within a threshold time period, proactively cooling the physical object.

摘要: Disclosed are techniques for automatically aligning a wrist-mounted display device to a primary display device to facilitate simultaneous use of both display devices. Historical usage information corresponding to a user using both devices is leveraged to determine usage patterns for the devices together. Subsequently, when the primary display device is used by the user, the usage patterns are used to determine when the wrist-mounted display device can be used together with the primary display device. Position information from each device is used to determine a position for the wrist-mounted display device to automatically relocate to for aligning the wrist-mounted display device and the primary display device to have similar viewing directions. The wrist-mounted display device is automatically aligned to the position, and a usage of the aligned wrist-mounted display device is initiated based on the historical usage patterns.

摘要: Provided are techniques for performing edge processing by selecting edge devices based on security levels. A security policy is identified for a job to determine a security level for the data. A number of the edge devices that are to be included in a participating group to execute the job is identified. A subset of edge devices that meet the security level are identified by comparing security data of each of the edge devices with the security level. In response to determining that the subset of edge devices includes that number of edge devices, the edge devices from the subset are added to the participating group. The job is executed using the edge devices in the participating group and the one or more cloud nodes, while maintaining the security level in processing the data and in communications across the edge devices and the one or more cloud nodes.
