摘要: A current interrupt assembly for electrochemical cells is disclosed. The current interrupter assembly may be a self-contained, sealed unit which may be separately inserted into the cell during cell construction. Several current interrupt assemblies may be inserted in the cell. The current interrupter assembly has particular utility for thin rechargeable cells and when inserted in the cell forms a portion of the electrical pathway between a cell electrode and corresponding terminal. The current interrupt mechanism comprises a thin thermally responsive member preferably comprising a disk of a shape memory metal alloy having a curved surface. The current interrupt mechanism may include a heat producing electrical resistance means, preferably a Zener diode in proximity to the thermally responsive member. When cell temperature exceeds a predetermined value the disk deflects to cause a break in the electrical pathway within the assembly. The assembly may include therein a flexible electrically conductive member which forms a part of the electrical pathway within the assembly and which is physically responsive to deflection of the thermally responsive member. The assembly may also include a pressure actuated diaphragm which may form a portion of the assembly housing. When the cell internal pressure exceeds a predetermined level the diaphragm deflects causing a break in the electrical pathway within the assembly, thereby shutting down the cell.

摘要: Methods and systems herein provide for calibrating for a plurality of different paper types. In one embodiment, a system for calibrating a printer includes a measurement module operable to detect colors printed on a first tangible medium by the printer and convert the detected colors to a detected color characterization. The system also includes a storage module operable to store a calibration file. The calibration file includes color characterizations of a plurality of different tangible mediums and each color characterization includes color measurements for one of the plurality of different tangible mediums obtained from the printer via the measurement module when the printer is calibrated. The system also includes a calibration module operable to compare the detected color characterization to at least two color characterizations of the calibration file and determine an adjustment to an output color scheme of the printer based on the comparison to calibrate the printer.

摘要: Failover processing that accommodates failures of backup computing nodes and resources, such as data storage units and printers. Failure of a computing node that controls resources causes another computing node to assume control of the resources controlled by the failed node. Failure of the primary computing node causes another computing node, at either the same or at a different site, to be selected as the new primary node. Failure of a resource at the primary site causes the site with the next highest priority backup resource to become the new primary site. Failure of a backup computing node causes a new backup node at the same site as the failed backup node to replace the failed backup node as host for the site's resources. Backup mirroring data flows are then adjusted to reflect the new functions of the affected nodes.

摘要: A system is disclosed. The system comprises one or more print controllers to generate print interrupt instructions in response to receiving a web splice signal indicating that a web splice on a web print medium has been detected, wherein the print interrupt instructions indicate a first side sheet image and a second side sheet image within a print job to pause prior to stopping printing, wherein the print interrupt instructions comprise gap instructions to open a first printhead gap at the first print engine and to open a second printhead gap at the second print engine, control printing of the first side sheet image on a first side of a web at a first print engine based on the print interrupt instructions, control printing of the second side sheet image to a second side of the web at a second print engine based on the print interrupt instructions, wherein the print interrupt instructions are generated based on a determination of an interrupted first side sheet image to be paused prior to opening the first printhead gap and a determination of an interrupted second side sheet image to be paused prior to opening the second printhead gap.

摘要: A system and method are disclosed for automatically limiting the drainage of a bodily fluid such as cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) from a patient into a collection chamber. The collection chamber includes a vent having an hydrophobic filter for the passage of air to facilitate the movement of CSF yet to maintain a closed system. The system includes a buoyant float hingedly connected with the top of the collection chamber in one embodiment. When fluid rises in the collection chamber to a predetermined volume, buoyant force raises the float and causes a seal plug mounted on top of the float to seal one of an inflow port or a vent port. The float is limited to pivoting movement in one plane and to a certain angle within that plane. The system and method avoid overdrainage of CSF from the patient and overfilling of the collection chamber.
