The at least one object of interest that is within said field of view is detected. Then, an image of a detected at least one object of interest is warped to fit within the field of view. A plurality of pixels surrounding the image of the detected at least one object of interest within the field of view is cropped such that, based on the warping and the cropping, the detected at least one object appears as centered within the field of view.

User input directs subsequent data-object selection by the grazing routine to allow users to intuitively navigate and search a large data-object library in order to locate one or a set of particular data objects. Users can input selection commands to specific presented data-objects in order to focus subsequent data-object selection and data-object presentation to increasingly smaller sub-populations of data objects. In the absence of user input, the sub-population of data objects from which data objects are selected for presentation may be increased.

In one aspect, a method receives each remote participant's audio data stream and at least one video stream over a network and arranges the video streams in a data structure that describes the location of each video stream's associated viewing area within a virtual meeting space. The method blends audio streams into a combined audio of the remote participants. The method presents at least one viewing area on the portable device display to be viewed by the local participant, and changes the at least one viewing area to be presented on the portable device display based on cues provided by the operator.
