A time-dependent information management system and method for a mobile phone that enable the management of time-related information in consideration of a change of time zone are provided. The method includes registering an event planned to occur at a first local time based on a first time zone together with a reference time calculated from the first local time; if the mobile phone enters into a second time zone, selecting the event in accordance with a key input; and setting the event to occur at a second local time calculated from the reference time. The system and method enable selectively adapting, when a mobile phone moves from a first time zone to a second time zone, times of schedules planned in the first time zone to a local time of second time zone, thereby effectively managing the schedules in multiple time zone-crossing environment.

A portable terminal and a method for displaying a touch keypad thereof are disclosed. The portable terminal includes a controller to determine whether a display screen is in a portrait mode in response to a text input request, and a touch screen to split a touch keypad into a left-hand keypad and a right-hand keypad and display one of the left-hand keypad and the right-hand keypad above the other, according to the control of the controller, when the display screen is in the portrait mode. The information list display method includes registering an attribute option for information items stored in the mobile terminal; grouping the information items according to registered attribute options; displaying, in response to a list display request, an information list of the grouped information items; and increasing, in response to a zoom-out request, the number of displayed attributes in the information list, and decreasing, in response to a zoom-in request, the number of displayed attributes in the information list. The screen font size is decreased and increased accordingly. As a result, a user, in particular a weak-sighted user, can easily find and view a desired information item, thereby facilitating utilization of the mobile terminal.
