Provided is a current detection device, which is capable of measuring a large current with a high degree of accuracy and reliability. The current detection device comprises a first wiring member consisting of a highly conductive material, a second wiring member consisting of a highly conductive material, and a resistance body consisting of a metal material having a smaller temperature coefficient of resistance than the highly conductive materials used in the wiring members. The first wiring member and the second wiring member are welded to the resistance body, and the second wiring member is longer than the first wiring member. The second wiring member has a plurality of bent portions. The plurality of bent portions includes portions bent to horizontal direction and portions bent to vertical direction. Voltage detection terminals are formed in the vicinity of the resistance body on the first and second wiring members.

Provided is a current detection resistor that is small and that inhibits influence of the skin effect due to high frequency current. The resistor includes a resistor body (11) and at least a pair of electrodes (12), wherein the resistor body (11) is configured in a pillar-shape having diameter of 4 mm or less disposed between the electrodes. Each of the electrodes (12) is made to be longer in the direction in which the electrodes are placed and longer than twice the distance between the electrodes, which sandwich the resistor body. Further, each of electrodes (12) is square pillar-shaped, and the resistor body is fixed to roughly to center of the electrode in cross-section.

The present invention relates to a shunt resistor and a method for manufacturing the shunt resistor. The present invention relates to a current detection device including a shunt resistor. The shunt resistor (1) comprises a resistance element (5) and a pair of electrodes (6, 7) connected to both ends (5a, 5b) of the resistance element (5) in a first direction. The shunt resistor (1) has a projecting portion (11) formed on a side surface (1a), which is parallel to the first direction, of the shunt resistor (1), and a recessed portion (12) formed in a side surface (1b), which is an opposite side of the side surface (1a), of the shunt resistor (1), and extending in the same direction as the projection (11). The projecting portion (11) has a portion of the resistance element (5) and portions of the pair of electrodes (6, 7), and the recessed portion (12) has a side surface (5d) of the resistance element (5) parallel to the first direction.

To provide a shunt resistor and a current detection device including the shunt resistor, to which a busbar, a board, and the like can be easily fixed with sufficient strength wherein only minimum processing of electrodes is required. Screwing members (bolt (14) and nut (15)) that are separate members from electrodes (12) of the resistor (10), are fixed on the electrodes (12). The current detection device includes the shunt resistor (10), which has at least a pair of electrodes (12). One screwing member (14) fixed beforehand on at least one electrode (12) is screw fastened with the other screwing member (15) while disposing a prescribed intervening member (20) between the one screwing member and the other screwing member. Here, the prescribed intervening member (20) includes a board mounting a current detection circuit thereon and/or busbars.

Provided is a connection structure for a detection terminal of shunt resistor that allows a lead wire, that is to be connected to an electrode of the shunt resistor and is for detecting electrical current, to be easily and compactly connected to the electrode within a narrow and small module. A terminal connection structure for a resistor, which connects a detection terminal to an electrode, comprises a shunt resistor (13) that has a pair of electrodes (12) at both ends of a resistor body (11); a connector base (14) formed of insulating material; and an electrically conductive section (15a) formed on the connector base (14); wherein the connector base (14) is fit onto the shunt resistor (13) such that the electrically conductive section (15a) is electrically connected to the electrodes (12). The connector base (14) is provided with a joint section (C) that can be fit onto the resistor body (11). The resistor body (11) and the electrode (12) is provided with a level difference and the connector base (14) is fit into between the electrodes (12,12).

The metal plate resistor comprises a resistance body; an electrode consisting of metal material having a higher conductivity than the resistance body, and the electrode bonded with the resistance body; a recessed portion formed in an end face of the electrode on a side bonded with the resistance body; and a fixation hole formed in the electrode for inserting a bolt; wherein an end portion of the resistance body is fitted into the recessed portion in the electrode. The recessed portion is provided with wall portions on both sides in a width direction of the resistance body, and in a direction substantially perpendicular to a penetration direction of the fixation hole. The recessed portion is opened to an end face and a first surface of the electrode.

Provided is a compact and easily mountable current detection device in which a resistor body can be easily inserted in a current path, and a voltage value produced by the current can be easily obtained. The current detection device comprises a unit metal member (11A, 11B, 11C) that pass a current to be detected, a pair of voltage terminals (14, 14), which obtain a voltage signal from the unit metal member, and a holding member (16) that holds a plural of the unit metal members in parallel. A plural of the unit metal members (11A, 11B, 11C) is interposed between the holding member (16) and the board (17) on which a plural of wiring patterns is formed, and each pair of the voltage terminals (14, 14) of the unit metal member is connected to each wiring pattern formed on the board.
