    Abstract: The sample measuring apparatus includes: a measuring device that measures a sample; a conveyance device that uses cassettes each having a plurality of stages capable of storing a plurality of samples having different sizes, takes out each sample one by one from a cassette serving as a pickup source among the cassettes, conveys the sample to the measuring device, and stores the sample measured by the measuring device into a cassette serving as a placement destination among the cassettes; a sample detector capable of detecting presence or absence of the sample in each stage of each of the cassettes; and a controller that controls the measuring device and the conveyance device based on a result of the detection by the sample detector.

    Abstract: A picking device includes: a workpiece holder in which a plurality of workpieces is stacked; a light receiver that receives reflected light from a workpiece stacked in the workpiece holder; a mover that relatively moves the light receiver with respect to the workpiece in such a manner that a distance between the light receiver and the workpiece is adjustable; an arm that picks the workpiece; a first hardware processor that calculates a distance between the light receiver and at least one workpiece among the plurality of workpieces; a second hardware processor that specifies a workpiece as a picking target among the plurality of workpieces or a region where the workpiece exists; and a third hardware processor that adjusts a distance between the light receiver and the workpiece calculated by the first hardware processor by controlling the mover in the region specified by the second hardware processor.

    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes: a photoconductor; a transfer portion; a photoconductor cleaner that removes residual toner from a surface of the photoconductor; and a first processor that forms a toner patch on the surface of the photoconductor. When the toner patch passes the transfer portion, the transfer portion makes the toner patch stay on the surface of the photoconductor such that toner of the toner patch is able to be supplied to the photoconductor cleaner. The first processor further determines an amount of toner for the toner patch with reference to a circumferential distance the photoconductor travels for a predetermined period of time.
