    Abstract: A head mounted display of which thickness may be reduced is disclosed. The head mounted display comprises a lens, and a display module accommodating unit for providing an image to the lens. The display module accommodating unit includes a display module for displaying an image, a first quarter wave (λ/4) plate arranged between the display module and the lens, delaying a phase of incident light as much as λ/4, a second quarter wave plate arranged between the first quarter wave plate and the lens, delaying a phase of incident light as much as λ/4, a reflective polarizing plate arranged between the second quarter wave plate and the lens, passing through first linear polarized light and reflecting second linear polarized light crossing the first linear polarized light, and a semi-transmissive plate arranged between the first quarter wave plate and the second quarter wave plate.

    Abstract: A display including an optical element disposed on a pixel array of a display panel; an optimal viewing distance control device configured to adjust primary view images seen through both eyes of a viewer to a first view image and second view image based on a viewer's position information sensed by a sensor, to automatically adjust other view images between the primary view images to view images separated at regular intervals, and to produce a view map using the adjusted primary view images and the adjusted other view images between the primary view images; a 3D formatter configured to map pixel data of a multi-view image based on the view map received from the optimal viewing distance control device; and a display panel driving circuit configured to write the pixel data of the multi-view image received from the 3D formatter to the display panel.

    Abstract: A display device is disclosed that includes an insulating layer located on a substrate. The insulating layer includes a plurality of concave portions which are located in a plurality of subpixels. An area of a first concave portion disposed in a first subpixel among the plurality of subpixels is larger than an area of a second concave portion disposed in a second subpixel among the plurality of subpixels. A plurality of lens parts are located on the insulating layer, and include a first lens part corresponding to the first concave portion and a second lens part corresponding to the second concave portion. It is possible to provide a display device capable of improving light extraction efficiency.

    Abstract: Disclosed is an AR device which has a thin thickness and a wide FOV and displays an image obtained by mixing a virtual object with the real world. The AR device includes a display unit displaying an augmented image, a reflector reflecting the augmented image displayed by the display unit, and an augmentation unit displaying the augmented image reflected by the reflector along with a real image. The display unit is disposed in an upper boundary of a front viewing angle range of a user, the reflector is disposed at a first angle with respect to the display unit, and the augmentation unit is disposed within the front viewing angle range of the user.

    Abstract: A display module and an HMD device including the same are discussed in which a black matrix is not recognized as a lattice type by a user without an increase in resolution of the display module. The display module according to an embodiment includes a first substrate on which a plurality of pixels are provided, a second substrate including one surface on which an engraved pattern is provided, and a lens layer filled into the engraved pattern of the second substrate. The lens layer comprises a plurality of lenses respectively corresponding to the plurality of pixels.
