Abstract: A television having an Internet browsing function including a network interface configured to access a webpage on the Internet; a display module; a memory configured to store a URL of the accessed webpage; a user interface configured to receive a command signal from a remote controller; and a controller configured to control the display module to display a broadcast program in a first area, in which the broadcast program is received via the network interface, an external device interface or a tuner, control the display module to display a thumbnail list in a second area while displaying the broadcast program in the first area, wherein the thumbnail list includes a captured image of the accessed webpage, and the second area is within the first area, and control the display module to display a webpage corresponding to the accessed webpage based on the URL stored in the memory in response to a command signal for selecting the captured image of the accessed webpage.

Abstract: A television controlled by a remote controller and including includes an infrared (IR) module to receive an IR signal from the remote controller; a radio frequency (RF) module to receive an RF signal from the remote controller; a network interface to receive metadata corresponding to a content to be displayed on a screen, the metadata including thumbnail image information, title information, actor information, genre information and synopsis information corresponding to the content; and a controller configured to change a power-off state of the television into a power-on state of the television based on the received IR signal and control a display to display a thumbnail image corresponding to the content based on the received metadata on the screen. Further, the controller is further configured to control the display to move a pointer on the screen based on the received RF signal containing information regarding movement of the remote controller, control the RF module to receive an RF signal corresponding to a designated key of the remote controller for selecting a thumbnail image corresponding to a specific content when the pointer is on the thumbnail image corresponding to the specific content, from the remote controller, control the display to display title information, actor information, genre information and synopsis information corresponding to the specific content according to the received RF signal corresponding to the designated key of the remote controller, and control the display to display related content information, the related content information relates to another content corresponding to the specific content based on the received metadata. In addition, when the related content information is selected by the pointer, the controller further controls the display to display a thumbnail image corresponding to the another content, a first item to identify a first source providing the another content and the second item to identify a second source providing the another content, the second source is different from the first source.
