    Abstract: The present specification discloses a mobile terminal and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present specification, the mobile terminal comprises: a display unit configured to output a first region which displays messages and a second region which displays information on a contact corresponding to the messages; and a control unit for outputting, to the display unit, a controller user interface (UI) for processing the messages to be displayed in the first region in association with the information on the contact displayed in the second region when a preset touch input is received in the second region. Here, the controller UI comprises: a menu region which displays scrap information associated with the information on the contact displayed in the second region among the messages displayed in the first region; and an input region which displays a message corresponding to the scrap information selected in the menu region.
