摘要： The present invention relates to a method for ensuring data consistency upon mapping of a hierarchical data format to a relational database management system.According to the invention, a method for ensuring data consistency upon storage of a data item in a database, the data item having an identifier and a locator for linking the data item to a destination, whereby the identifier and the locator are stored in the database in addition to the data item, comprises the steps of: checking (11) whether the current combination of identifier and locator has already been stored in the database, and using (12) the stored combination of the data item if this is the case, in case the current combination of identifier and locator has not yet been stored in the database, checking (13, 15) whether either the identifier or the locator has already been stored in the database, replacing (14, 16) the current combination of identifier and locator with a univocal combination if this is the case, and storing (17) the univocal combination together with the data item, and storing (17) the current combination of identifier and locator together with the data item else.

摘要： It is desired to link photo data and video data taken by a digital camcorder. Therefore, there is provided a device and method for linking multimedia data, wherein linking information is formed on the basis of first and/or second multimedia data. The linking information is stored on a recording medium together with the first multimedia data. The second multimedia data may be stored together with respective linking information to the first multimedia data on a second recording medium. Thus, a camera-man while recording is able to set up logo or index pictures for a video film.

摘要： The handling of large amounts of data on storing media shall be simplified. Therefore, a method for maintaining a storage media by generating, editing or reading log data related to the content and usage of a data item stored or to be stored on a storage medium is provided. Data items are deleted or recommendations for deletion are provided on the basis of the log data from the storage medium. Thus, the user is relieved from the unpleasant and time-consuming task of deleting data items from recording media.

摘要： Movies are produced in 24 Hz frame frequency and progressive scanning format (denoted 24p) for projection in film theatres, adhering to a worldwide standard for 35 mm film. However, the major TV systems in the world use interlaced scanning and either 50 Hz field frequency (denoted 50i) or 60 Hz field frequency (denoted 60i). Content providers would prefer providing single-picture-frequency single-audio-speed AV discs that can be replayed in most parts of the world. A 24p audio/video data stream is supplemented with additional 50i format data items thereby allowing 24p and 50i format replay of that data stream.
