    摘要: In an accounting system for a multimedia communications system, an additional information storage unit stores additional information to be supplied to subscriber terminals in the multimedia communications system by one or a plurality of additional information suppliers. An additional information adding unit adds the additional information to communication information transmitted between subscriber terminals communicating with each other. A measurement unit measures a degree of supply of the additional information supplied to at least one of the subscriber terminals communicating with each other. A database unit stores accounting information used to calculate a fee for a communication between the subscriber terminals communicating with each other. A control unit calculates the fee for the communication between the subscriber terminals communicating with each other on the basis of the accounting information and the degree of supply of the additional information measured by the measurement unit.

    摘要: A network system which provides each terminal user with differentiated service, dynamically changing service profiles even in the middle of a communication session. A service control database maintains service profile definitions. When a mobile node registers with a foreign agent to initiate a conmiunication session, a service profile setting controller in the mobile node's home server sets up a service profile for the mobile user. When an event occurs within a service profile updating controller, it indicates that some control condition specified in the service profile is met. The service profile updating controller then makes access to the service control database to obtain a new service profile and the mobile node's foreign server forwards it to the foreign agent, to which the mobile node is attached. The service profile that has been established in relevant network nodes, including the home agent and foreign agent, is dynamically updated with the new one.

    摘要: A data management system that allows client terminals on a network to register records with search keywords to distributed data management servers and to retrieve them by entering a specific search keyword. The entire coverage area of the network is divided into a plurality of primary areas, and each primary area is further subdivided into a plurality of secondary areas. Primary and secondary servers are deployed over the network, one for each individual primary area and secondary area, respectively. The primary servers employ a primary hash function that processes a given search keyword to derive a primary server identifier indicating one of the primary servers that governs a particular primary area where the secondary server having a record relevant to the given search keyword is located. Further, the primary servers have a secondary hash function that processes a given search keyword to derive a specific secondary server identifier indicating one of the secondary servers that is located in the same primary area as their own and has a record relevant to the given search keyword. The secondary servers are also equipped with the same secondary hash function as the primary servers'. Those two hash functions are used in both data registration and data retrieval processes.
