摘要: A full-color electrophotographic apparatus of the present invention is configured such that a toner image is formed on an intermediate transfer member. The intermediate transfer member is heated to a temperature equal to or higher than the softening start temperature of resin contained in a liquid toner and equal to or lower than the withstand temperature of a photoconductor member. A carrier-removing roller to which bias can be applied abuts the intermediate transfer member so as to remove a carrier while packing softened toner by the force of an electric field induced by bias. In a transfer section for transfer to a printing medium, a backup roller presses the printing medium against the intermediate transfer member, and the toner image is transferred from the intermediate transfer member to the printing medium. Before being pressed against the toner image on the intermediate transfer member, the printing medium is heated. Bias is applied to the backup roller such that the toner image on the intermediate transfer is attracted toward the printing medium by the action of an electric field, thereby assisting transfer. By so doing, the intermediate transfer member does not need to undergo cooling before coming into contact with the photoconductor member, thereby avoiding occurrence of thermal damage to the photoconductor member.

摘要: A solid-concentration measuring apparatus includes an ultrasonic transmitter, an ultrasonic receiver, and a response-time integrator. The ultrasonic transmitter transmits a single-pulse ultrasonic wave to a liquid toner. The ultrasonic receiver receives the single-pulse ultrasonic wave. The ultrasonic transmitter transmits again a single-pulse ultrasonic wave after a predetermined time has passed from when the ultrasonic receiver receives the single-pulse ultrasonic wave. The response-time integrator measures a response time from transmission to reception of each single-pulse ultrasonic wave, and integrates the response time with respect to each set of N pulses (N>1). A solid concentration of the liquid toner is calculated based on the integrated response time.

摘要: Document image data is converted into luminance image data. Block image data is generated from the luminance image data. Start point block pixel data and end point block pixel data are set based on a change rate of luminance values of adjacent block pixel data. A luminance value of block pixel data between the start point block pixel data and the end point block pixel data is corrected based on a start point luminance value and an end point luminance value. The luminance value, of the block pixel data wherein each luminance value of an adjacent block pixel data cluster is less than an average value, is substituted by the average value. The luminance value of each pixel data is set based on the luminance value of the block pixel data. Post process luminance image data that includes each pixel data is reconverted into the document image data.
