摘要: An image processing apparatus generates a normal image, when lighting correction of an image is performed using three-dimensional shape data. Three-dimensional shape data of a predetermined object is adjusted with a subject in position, based on a feature pattern detected in image data, and lighting processing for correcting a pixel value of the image data is performed based on the adjusted three-dimensional shape data, distance information of the subject, and a position of a virtual light source. When the three-dimensional shape data is adjusted with the image data in position, a region having a large irregularity in the three-dimensional shape data is preferentially adjusted in position.

摘要: A tone-mapping function that maps input images of a high dynamic range into reference tone-mapped images of a relatively narrow dynamic range is generated. A luma forward reshaping function is derived, based on first bit depths and second bit depths, for forward reshaping luma codewords of the input images into forward reshaped luma codewords of forward reshaped images approximating the reference tone-mapped images. A chroma forward reshaping mapping is derived for predicting chroma codewords of the forward reshaped images. Backward reshaping metadata that is to be used by recipient devices to generate a luma backward reshaping function and a chroma backward reshaping mapping is transmitted with the forward reshaped images to the recipient devices. Techniques for the joint derivation of forward luma and chroma reshaping functions are also presented.

摘要: Disclosed is an image processing apparatus and a control method thereof that can correct the brightness of a pixel in an image. Reflection characteristics of environment light when the image is captured are estimated by applying smoothing to the image. The brightness of the pixel is corrected by computing a correction value for correcting the brightness of the pixel based on the reflection characteristics of the environment light and adding the correction value to the pixel. The brightness can be corrected while suppressing an amplification of noise and a loss of details of a subject.

摘要: This invention discloses an image-correcting device that allows stable identification of a target object in a taken image even if the intensity of illumination is uneven across the areas of a space being imaged. The image-correcting device has a reference-luminance-correction-parameter computation unit and a correction unit. The reference-luminance-correction-parameter computation unit computes a reference luminance-correction parameter on the basis of the following: luminance information for the region of a reference image, which is an image taken of a reference object moving through the space being imaged, in which the reference object is displayed; and coordinate information indicating the position of the region. On the basis of the reference-luminance-correction parameter, the correction unit corrects the abovementioned taken image, which is an image taken of the aforementioned space and contains a correction target.

摘要: Innovations in content mastering operations performed during playback of high dynamic range (“HDR”) video on a display device are described. When content mastering is performed during playback on a display device, a video playback system can use details retained for input HDR video (e.g., retained in metadata) and the properties of the display device to improve the perceptual quality of the HDR video as shown on that display device. For example, the video playback system can use an energy-preserving bloom operator to make bright highlights “bloom” into adjacent areas, thereby accentuating the bright highlights in the HDR video while operating within the constraints of the display device. The video playback system can also perform various other types of operations when content mastering is deferred until playback, including application of a lens flare operator as well as alternative tone mapping operators and alternative color gamut mapping operators selected according to metadata.

The present disclosure may generate, for example, a high dynamic range (HDR) image, which is improved from a standard dynamic range (SDR) image.
