Abstract:
There is provided a method including receiving information at a user device capable of operating using carrier aggregation, said information including an indication of a first carrier and at least one second carrier to be used for a signalling procedure, causing transmission from the user device of a first signal of the signalling procedure using at least one of the first carrier and the at least one second carrier and monitoring the first carrier and the at least one second carrier for transmission of a second signal of the signalling procedure from an access point.
Abstract:
The present invention provides apparatuses, methods, computer programs, computer program products and computer-readable media regarding an optimized time-to-trigger for WLAN radio interworking. The present invention comprises defining, by a network element, a timer value indicating a time period during which rules for traffic management by a user equipment have to be fulfilled before the user equipment is allowed to start the traffic management, the traffic management including network selection of initiating a communication session in a communication network according to a first radio access technology and traffic steering of switching a communication session from the first communication network according to the first radio access technology to a second communication network according to a second radio access technology, wherein the timer value to be applied for network selection differs from the timer value applied for traffic steering, and transmitting, by the network element, the timer value to the user equipment.
Abstract:
There is provided a method including determining, from a plurality of groups of access points, a group of a detected access point, each group having at least one property different from another group and using threshold information associated with the determined group to determine whether to connect to a network using said detected access point.
Abstract:
A method including receiving signals at a first frequency and at a second frequency; and switching between the first frequency and the second frequency during one of a plurality of subframes within a radio frame for transmission subsequent to said receiving.
Abstract:
Interference coordination is used between neighbouring evolved NodeBs operating on a shared frequency band in a wireless communications network. Improved capacity estimation may be obtained by determining a capacity estimate of an access node of the wireless communications network on the basis of the interference co-ordination. Traffic may be steered with improved accuracy on the basis of the determined improved capacity estimate.
Abstract:
A method may include receiving access network selection information from a user equipment and providing network selection information in dependence on said requested access network selection function information.
Abstract:
Control channels can benefit from a search space arrangement. For example, an evolved or enhanced physical downlink control channel (E-PDCCH) in the long term evolution advanced (LTE-A) physical layer can benefit in its design from a search space arrangement. A method can include indicating a control channel search space by a pair of parameters. The pair of parameters can include a physical resource block index and an explicit control channel element index. The method can also include transmitting on the control channel within the search space.
Abstract:
A method is disclosed for signal processing in a radio system. The method comprises generating (801), in an apparatus (602), a single carrier frequency division multiplexing SC-FDM signal having a shorter duration than a time symbol duration defined by a radio standard applied in the radio system. The signal is transmitted (802) from the communications apparatus (602). The method comprises receiving (803) said signal from the communications apparatus (602), wherein orthogonality of frequency subcarriers is maintained at a receiver (601) of the signal.
Abstract:
A method for synchronizing communication devices comprises receiving, in a communication device (102), a first synchronization signal transmitted from a network apparatus (101). Based on the first synchronization signal, communication device (102) performs a coarse synchronization process. Based on the coarse synchronization process, the communications device (102) transmits a synchronization scheduling request message to the network apparatus (101). The communication device (102) receives (306), from the network apparatus (101), a second synchronization signal, together with a scheduling grant, at a predetermined time window with reference to the scheduling request, and transmits (307) data from the communication device (102) to the network apparatus (101), based on the scheduling grant.
Abstract:
This document discloses a solution for sharing information on subscriber identifiers in a network. According to an aspect, a method comprises: storing, in a mobility management node, at least two subscriber identifiers; and transmitting, by the mobility management node to a target network node during setup of a bearer for a first subscriber identifier of the at least two subscriber identifiers, a message comprising at least a second subscriber identifier of the at least two subscriber identifiers.
