摘要： An ink jet recording apparatus comprises: at least one recording head having a face on which a plurality of nozzle orifices are formed, the recording head mounted on a carriage to be moved reciprocatively in the widthwise direction of a recording sheet; a capping device disposed in a non-print region of the recording head, the capping device including at least one cap unit for sealing the nozzle-formed surface of the recording head in cooperation with the movement of carriage; and a plurality of suction pumps for applying negative pressure in the interior space of the cap unit via suction tubes while the cap unit seals the nozzle-formed surface in cooperation with at least one drive source. The number of the suction pumps is at least equal to the number of the cap unit.

摘要： An ink-jet recording apparatus has a flushing signal generating unit that generates a flushing signal, and a recording head provided with nozzles and capable of jetting ink particles through the nozzles when driven by the flushing signal. The flushing signal causes the recording head to jet only main ink particles through the nozzles. The ink-jet recording apparatus suppresses the formation of mist of ink particles during a flushing operation.

The second output transmits data to the downstream device. The memory is accessible through the communications circuit. The identifier generator generates an identifier number unique to the communications device in response to an identifier setup request received at the first input. The latency controller determines, based on the generated identifier number, a period of latency required to access the memory through the communications circuit.

A pressing member may be provided to bias the packing member against an inner surface of the ink supply port. The ink tank cartridge can be assembled to limit the occurrence of air bubbles in the tank.
