Abstract: A technique including determining that a first access node serving a communication device is currently in a dormant, first state in which said first access node is not receiving radio transmissions; and controlling a radio transmitter or radio transceiver at said communication device to transmit a radio signal that triggers at least one second access node to alert said first access node of a request for said first access node to switch from said first state to a second state in which said first access node receives radio transmissions.

Abstract: A method for network synchronization of a first network element is provided, comprising: receiving, from each of at least two synchronization candidate network elements, a first synchronization accuracy value; determining, for each of the at least two synchronization candidate network elements, a signal quality indicator; determining for each synchronization candidate network element a second synchronization accuracy value based on the signal quality indicator and the first synchronization accuracy value related to the synchronization candidate network element, and selecting a synchronizing network element, for synchronizing the first network element to, from the at least two synchronization candidate network elements, based on the determined second synchronization accuracy values. The present disclosure enhances the performance of RIB network synchronization by indicating an estimate of an accumulated synchronization error magnitude. The indication is beneficial for RIB source network element or source cell selection and it could help to make the topology of synchronized network elements/cells more reasonable.
