    摘要: An electrophotographic photosensitive member is formed by disposing a photosensitive layer and a protective layer in this order on an electroconductive support. The protective layer is formed from a resin obtained by polymerization of a curable acrylic monomer having at least three acrylic groups, i.e., acryloyl and/or methacryloyl groups. The protective layer not only shows a good durability against wearing but also can contain fine electroconductive particles therein with a good dispersibility because of the presence of the acrylic groups aiding the dispersion.

    摘要: An image holding member rich in durability and suitably used as an electrophotographic photosensitive member or an electrostatic image-holding dielectric member is prepared by coating a support with a resinous layer formed by polymerization of a phosphazene polyene represented by the following formida: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 denotes an ethylenically unsaturated group, preferably an acrylic group represented by --R.sub.2 --OCO--C(R.sub.3)=CH.sub.2, wherein R.sub.2 denotes an alkylene group, arylene group, alkyl-substituted arylene group, alkylamide group or arylamide group, and R.sub.3 denotes a hydrogen atom or a methyl group. The resinous layer may constitute a photosensitive layer, a dielectric layer, or a protective layer covering these layers.

    摘要: An image-bearing member suitable for carrying an electrostatic image and/or a toner image is formed by forming a surface layer on a substrate or a photosensitive layer. The surface layer comprises a polymerized and cured product of a photoionically polymerizable compound having two or more functional groups, and shows excellent mechanical and electrical resistance as well as excellent charge-retaining characteristic. As a result, the surface layer provides an image-bearing surface suitable for electrophotography. The surface layer may be a protective layer or a photoconductive layer when it constitutes a photosensitive member.

    摘要: A electrophotographic photosensitive member and an electrophotographic apparatus, a device unit and a facsimile machine using an electrophotographic photosensitive member which comprises a conductive support, a photosensitive layer and a protective layer, the protective layer containing resin formed by hardening a light-setting type acrylic monomer, and the photosensitive layer containing at least one compound selected from the group consisting of (A), (B) and (C) below:(A) styryl compounds having a structure expressed by the following formula (1) and a melting point not higher than 135.degree. C.; ##STR1## wherein Ar.sup.1 and Ar.sup.2 are aromatic ring groups, Ar.sup.3 is a bivalent aromatic ring group or a bivalent heterocyclic group, R.sup.1 is an alkyl group or an aromatic ring group, R.sup.2 is a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aromatic ring group, and n.sub.1 is 1 or 2, R.sup.1 and R.sup.2 possibly linking to form a ring when n.sub.1 =1;(B) triarylamine compounds having a structure expressed by the following formula (2) and a melting point not higher than 150.degree. C.; ##STR2## wherein Ar.sup.4, Ar.sup.5 and Ar.sup.6 are each an aromatic ring group or a heterocyclic group:(C) hydrazone compounds having a structure expressed by the following formula (3) and a melting point not higher than 155.degree.     摘要: An object of the present invention is to improve a phenomenon of the life-shortening of the endurance life due to scratch occurring when recesses of a fixed dimple shape are formed on the surface of the surface layer, in order to inhibit the chattering and folding back of a cleaning blade and the fracture of an edge, which occurs because friction between the surface layer of the surface of an electrophotographic photosensitive member and an abutting member is high; and particularly to improve the above described problems, from initial printing through printing on many sheets, which become particularly remarkable when using an electrophotographic photosensitive member with the use of a curable resin that is improved so as to have a high elastic deformation rate for the surface layer, in order to improve the strength of the surface layer, for the purpose of increasing the durability of an electrophotographic photosensitive member. An electrophotographic photosensitive member for achieving the object, which has a support and an organic photosensitive layer, is characterized in that the electrophotographic photosensitive member has dimple-shaped concavities formed on the surface of the surface layer of the electrophotographic photosensitive member, and further has the recesses with the same pattern as that on the surface of the surface layer, formed on the interface created between the surface layer of the organic photosensitive member and the layer directly under the surface layer (a subsurface layer).
