Abstract: The disclosure provides an image processing apparatus and an operation method thereof. The image processing apparatus includes a sticking model circuit and a dynamic adjustment circuit. The sticking model circuit correspondingly provides degradation information according to pixel data of a current pixel. The dynamic adjustment circuit dynamically adjusts original image data of the current pixel according to the degradation information to generate output data. The dynamic adjustment circuit converts a first sub-pixel of the current pixel to at least one second sub-pixel of the current pixel when luminance is maintained. The dynamic adjustment circuit provides the output data to the sticking model circuit.

Abstract: The disclosure provides an image adjustment device configured to be different modes according to whether the adopted display is a light emitting diode display or a liquid crystal display, and including a duty cycle calculator, an intensity calculator and a compensator. In a first mode, the duty cycle calculator determines a respective type of each segment according to brightness information of each segment, and sets a duty cycle value according to the type of the segment. In a second mode, the duty cycle calculator calculates the duty cycle value according to the brightness information of each segment. The intensity calculator calculates the pixel intensity of the segment based on the duty cycle value and a light diffusion coefficient set. The compensator generates a pixel gain value according to the intensity value of each pixel of the segment, and adjusts the pixel value according to the pixel gain value.

Abstract: A method and an image processing device for image color enhancement are proposed. The method includes the following steps. An input image having input pixels is received, where each of the input pixels includes a luminance component and two chrominance components. A saturation gain of each of the input pixels is determined according to the chrominance components thereof. The chrominance components of each of the input pixels are adjusted according to the saturation gain thereof so as to generate enhanced pixels. An enhanced image is outputted according to the enhanced pixels.

Abstract: A method of and a display control device for emulating OLED degradation for an OLED display panel are proposed, where the OLED display panel includes pixels, and each of the pixels includes subpixels. The method includes the following steps. A current image signal is received. A driving signal level for each of the subpixels is determined based on the current image signal. An actual surface temperature of each of the subpixels is estimated based on the corresponding driving signal level. An accumulated stress of each of the subpixels is computed based on the corresponding driving signal level, the corresponding actual surface temperature, and at least one previous image signal prior to the current image signal. A degradation map that emulates OLED degradation of the OLED display panel is generated based on the accumulated stress of each of the subpixels.

Abstract: An image adjustment method comprises: generate a grayscale value of a target pixel by weighted averaging a plurality of input sub-pixel data of the target pixel; calculate an average of grayscale values of all pixels comprising the target pixel in a first window to generate a foreground value of the target pixel; calculate an average of grayscale values of all pixels comprising the target pixel in a second window to generate a background value of the target pixel; according to the foreground value of the target pixel and the background value of the target pixel, obtain a just-noticeable difference value in a look-up table as a grayscale difference value; generate an adjusted grayscale value of the target pixel according to the grayscale difference value; and generate a plurality of output sub-pixel data according to the plurality of input sub-pixel data of the target pixel and the adjusted grayscale value.

Abstract: A local dimming control method for a backlight module having a plurality of light emitting diodes is provided. The local dimming control method includes the steps of determining an initial duty cycle of a driving signal, calculating brightness of each light emitting diode according to the initial duty cycle, calculating a local luminance of each light emitting diode based on combination of brightness of that light emitting diode and light diffusion of surrounding light emitting diodes, calculating a cost function of clipping error and leaking error according to the local luminance of each light emitting diode and an ideal brightness of the corresponding pixel, calculating a gradient of the cost function of clipping error and leaking error, and adjusting the initial duty cycle according to the gradient, and image characteristics of the pixel and the surrounding pixels to provide an adjusted duty cycle of the driving signal.
