    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. Techniques provide for reliable signal processing and amplification of downlink signals. A network entity may apply a digital pre-distortion (DPD) process to a signal for transmission to a user equipment (UE) and may apply a crest factor reduction (CFR) process to the output of the DPD process. The output of the CFR process may be amplified by a power amplifier and transmitted via a downlink transmission to the UE. The CFR process limits the peak power of the signal provided to the power amplifier (e.g., to a configured level), thereby reducing the peak to average power ratio (PAPR) of the signal provided to the power amplifier. The DPD process may compensate for non-linearities of the power amplifier. A training procedure for the DPD process may account for the CFR process applied after the DPD process.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. In some wireless communications systems, a user equipment (UE) may receive a control signal allocating downlink resources and uplink resources, where the uplink resources puncture the downlink resources and are allocated for transmitting feedback control information. The UE may generate an uplink signal containing the feedback control information and one or more cancelation tones for canceling interference between a downlink signal and the uplink signal in accordance with a timing advance value. Additionally, or alternatively, the UE may generate an uplink signal including the feedback control information, where the uplink signal contains uplink symbols and cyclic extensions appended to the uplink symbols, and the cyclic extensions may be based on the timing advance value. The UE may transmit, while receiving downlink data on the downlink resources, the uplink signal including the feedback control information using the set of uplink resources.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, one or more downlink grants scheduling one or more corresponding downlink transmissions from the base station to the UE. In some examples, the UE may enter a state of sleep prior to receiving the one or more downlink transmissions. In such examples, the UE may wake up from the state of sleep at a first time that is at least a threshold period of time before a second time corresponding to a beginning of the one or more downlink transmissions. After waking up from the state of sleep, the UE may activate a notch filter and use the activated notch filter to filter a spur generated at the UE. The UE may receive the one or more downlink transmissions with improved reliability based on activating the notch filter.

    Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a network entity, a capability message that indicates a set of one or more wake-up signal parameters associated with one or more wake-up signal waveform types supported by the UE. The network entity may transmit an indication of a set of wake-up signals to be monitored by the UE based on the capability message. The UE may monitor for the wake-up signals accordingly. In some examples, the network entity may determine a group of UEs based on wake-up signal parameters being common to the UEs in the group. Each of the UEs may monitor, using a first transceiver associated with a first mode of operation, for a group wake-up signal including a request for each UE of the group of UEs to activate a second transceiver associated with a second mode of operation and higher power consumption than the first transceiver.

In some systems, a network entity may map on-off keying (OOK) symbols of an OOK sequence to an orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) waveform including at least one OFDM symbol with a cyclic prefix. Each OOK symbol of the OOK sequence may be mapped to at least one segment of an integer quantity of segments of the OFDM waveform based on an OOK data rate. A duration of each segment of the integer quantity of segments of the OFDM waveform may be based on the OOK data rate and a ratio between a duration of the cyclic prefix and a duration of a remainder of the OFDM symbol. The network entity may transmit the OFDM waveform via a set of frequency resources. A user equipment (UE) may receive and decode the OFDM waveform to obtain the OOK sequence.

A user equipment (UE) may identify conditions associated with one or more physical channels, for example, a set of resources with which the UE may be configured to communicate with a base station. The UE may determine whether to enable a reduced power mode based on the conditions satisfying certain criteria, for example, the set of resources corresponding allocated for particular transmissions. The UE may identify that the conditions satisfy corresponding criteria, and the UE may determine to enable the reduced power mode. The UE may accordingly modify operations one or more components of a receive chain of the UE. The UE may determine to disable the reduced power mode based on the conditions failing to satisfy the criteria, and the UE may modify operations of the one or more components of the receive chain accordingly.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for receiving a plurality of spatially multiplexed multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) single carrier signals in a wireless modem. The signals may be received over multiple antennas associated with the modem, and a multiplication stage of frequency domain equalization may be performed on each of the signals in multiple branches of the modem. Each of the branches may be transformed to a time domain after performing the multiplication stage. An identified differential phase error between the different antennas may then be suppressed in the time domain by rotating a phase of at least one of the signals in each of a number of pairs of the branches. A summation stage of equalization may be performed on a sample-by-sample basis in the time domain on each of the signals after suppressing the identified differential phase error.
