    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A wireless station (STA) (for example, an access point (AP) or a non-AP STA) may transmit a message to one or more STAs in a multiple basic service set (BSS) system that indicates one or more distributed resource units (RUs) for the STAs to use for communications, in which each distributed RU includes a respective set of tones interspersed within a channel bandwidth such that tones of different BSSs are interleaved. For example, a coordinating STA may indicate respective distributed RUs assigned to each BSS, and may communicate with the STAs using tones of the distributed RUs for the BSS supported by the coordinating STA. In some other examples, a STA may indicate occupied distributed RUs and a permission condition to another STA, such that the other STA may use unoccupied distributed RUs for communications in accordance with the permission condition.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for reducing PAPR in wireless communications. Some implementations more specifically relate to single-carrier frequency-division multiplexing (SC-FDM) techniques that can be used for wireless communications in wireless local area networks (WLANs). In some aspects, a wireless communication device may modulate a physical layer convergence protocol (PLCP) protocol data unit (PPDU) as a series of symbols in the time domain and may transform a subset of the time-domain symbols into a number (Q) of frequency-domain samples based on a Q-point discrete Fourier transform (DFT). The wireless communication device maps the Q frequency-domain samples to a number (N) of orthogonal subcarriers (representing an orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (OFDM) symbol), where N>Q, and transforms the N subcarriers into N time-domain samples, based on an inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT), for transmission over a wireless channel.

    Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, or apparatuses that support a 20 MHz station (STA) parked on a secondary channel. Without the described techniques, mechanisms to support secondary channel operation may be unable to receive management frames or broadcast traffic from an access point (AP), which may cause the STA to lose synchronization with the AP, miss a channel change or other critical announcement from the AP, etc. Considerations for providing such information to STAs parked on a secondary channel are discussed. In some examples, an AP may restrict resource unit allocation to the secondary channel on which the STA is parked. In some cases, a trigger-based random access mechanism may utilize aspects of the present disclosure to limit access to certain resource units to STAs on a given secondary channel.

    Abstract: This disclosure provides methods, devices and systems for data parsing for resource unit (RU) aggregation. A wireless communication device (such as an access point (AP) or a station (STA)) may allocate a set of resource units (RUs) for a receiving device in a basic service set (BSS). The set of RUs may be associated with multiple bandwidth segments of a bandwidth allocation and may be non-contiguous or contiguous. The wireless communication device may determine a data parsing and encoding scheme for a set of information bits. In some implementations, the encoded bits may be distributed to the set of RUs based on a distance to tone mapping value or pilot tone location or both of the aggregated set of RUs different than respective values or pilot tone locations of the RUs in the aggregated set of RUs.

    Abstract: A method for determining uplink channel information includes sending a trigger frame from an access point of a wireless network to a plurality of stations in the wireless network. The method also includes receiving an uplink transmission from at least one station of the plurality of stations in response to sending the trigger frame. The method further includes determining uplink channel data based on the uplink transmission. The method also includes sending the uplink channel data to the at least one station. The uplink channel data is usable by the at least one station to send data to the access point.
