Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for operating a camera-enabled device are described. The camera-enabled device may emit, via a first light emitting source, an infrared light in a physical environment and determine time-of-flight information associated with a target object in the physical environment based on the emitted infrared light. The camera-enabled device may estimate one or more exposure settings based on the time-of-flight information, and emit, via a second light emitting source, a visible light in the physical environment based on the estimated one or more exposure settings. As a result, the camera-enabled device may capture an image of the physical environment based on the emitted visible light and the estimated one or more exposure settings.

Abstract: Aspects of the present disclosure relate to systems and methods for calibrating a flash for image capture. An example method may include receiving, from a camera, a first image of a scene captured with a first flash light source emitting light with a first color temperature and with a second flash light source emitting light with a second color temperature different from the first color temperature. The first flash light source and the second flash light source may be derived based on a first flash calibration setting of a number of stored flash calibration settings. The example method may also include determining a difference between a desired color characteristic for the first flash calibration setting and a color characteristic of the first image. The example method may further include adjusting the first flash calibration setting based on the determined difference.

Abstract: This disclosure provides systems, methods, and devices for image signal processing. In a first aspect, a method of image processing includes controlling an image sensor to capture image data for determining a standard dynamic range (SDR) representation of a scene, the image data comprising a first series of image frames captured with a first exposure level and a second series of image frames captured at a second exposure level. The SDR representation of the scene may be generated by determining a first output image frame based on at least a first image frame of the first series of image frames. Determining of an exposure level for the image sensor during the SDR image capture may be based on a second image frame of the second series of image frames captured by the image sensor in a multi-frame sensor configuration. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for adjusting exposure at a camera of a device are described. The described techniques relate to improved methods, systems, devices, or apparatuses that support faster automatic exposure control (AEC). Generally, the described AEC techniques provide for alignment of exposure setting adjustments (e.g., exposure time adjustments, gain adjustments, etc.) with 2-frame gain adjustment delays. For example, gain adjustment calculations based on image sensor measurements associated with a current frame (e.g., frame N) may take into consideration exposure time adjustment calculations from the previous frame (e.g., frame N−1), such that AEC algorithms may use exposure time adjustment calculations from the previous frame (e.g., frame N−1) and gain adjustment calculations from the current frame (e.g., frame N) to adjust exposure settings with a 2-frame delay (e.g., such that updated exposure settings may take effect on frame N+2).

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for asymmetric exposure time adjustments for multi-frame (MF) high dynamic range (HDR) imaging in low light conditions are described. In some implementations, a device may receive a set of frames including short exposure frames associated with a first exposure time and long exposure frames associated with a second exposure time and may adjust the second exposure time associated with the long exposure frames to obtain a third exposure time for the long exposure frames based on detecting a low light condition associated with the set of frames. The device may adjust the second exposure time associated with the long exposure frames to obtain the third exposure time for the long exposure frames based on adding, at an image sensor of the device, an additional set of blanking lines to a set of visible lines associated with the short exposure frames.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing one or more images include determining one or more current exposure settings for a current image of a current scene at a current time. One or more motion characteristics associated with an image sensor are determined. Based on the one or more motion characteristics, a location of a portion of the current image to use for determining one or more future exposure settings for the image sensor are determined, the one or more future exposure settings for capturing a future image of a future scene at a future time, the future time being subsequent to the current time. The one or more future exposure settings are determined based on the predicted portion of the current image.

Abstract: Systems, methods, and non-transitory media are provided for automatic exposure control. An example method can include receiving pixel values captured by a photosensor pixel array (PPA) of an image sensor, wherein one or more pixel values from the pixel values correspond to one or more sensitivity-biased photosensor (SBP) pixels in the PPA and one or more saturated pixel values from the pixel values correspond to one or more other photosensor pixels in the PPA; determining, based on the one or more pixel values, an actual pixel value for the one or more pixel values and/or the one or more saturated pixel values; determining an adjustment factor for at least one of the pixel values based on the actual pixel value and a target exposure value; and based on the adjustment factor, correcting an exposure setting associated with the image sensor and/or at least one of the pixel values.
