摘要: A surgical system for positioning organs in a patient. The surgical system includes a mesh retrieval device and a mesh support structure. The mesh support structure is suitable for implanting in the patient to position the organ at a desired location in the patient. The mesh retrieval device is engageable with the mesh support structure. The system includes specialized needles and cannulas for delivery of the mesh retrieval device to the mesh support structure and the subsequent positioning of the mesh support structure, which results in the positioning of the organ. Methods of positioning organs in a patient using such devices are also disclosed.

摘要: An implant, insertion tool, combinations, and associated methods, that involve placement of a self-fixating tip at tissue of the pelvic region, wherein an insertion tool includes one or more of an aperture for engaging a guide and an extension guard, the method optionally allowing for initial placement of a self-fixating tip at tissue of the pelvic region and adjustment of the location of the self-fixating tip. A threading guide is provided to assist in threading the guide through the aperture. An anchor also provided to with a retaining member to retain the anchor in tissue.

摘要: Systems for providing support within the pelvic region of a patient. The systems can include an elongated incontinence sling having a central support portion adapted to be positioned to support any one of the urethra or anus, and a sling tension adjustment mechanism operatively attached to the elongated sling. The sling tension adjustment mechanism can include a plunger device adapted for traversal within an interior of the housing, and an inflatable bladder provided within the housing to selectively control traversal of the plunger. Alternatively, the adjustment mechanism can include a bobbin device within the housing and one or more retention devices to selectively restrict unwinding of a suture from the bobbin device.

摘要: An artificial disc includes a top vertebra-attachment portion and a lower spacer support connected to the top vertebra-attachment portion; a bottom vertebra-attachment portion and an upper spacer support connected to the bottom vertebra-attachment portion. The spacer supports are disposed between the vertebra-attachment portions, and the lower spacer support is disposed between the bottom vertebra-attachment portion and the upper spacer support. The disc further includes a first elastic spacer positioned between the spacer supports for compressively resisting tensile loading of the disc; and a second spacer disposed between the bottom vertebra-attachment portion and the lower spacer support or between the top vertebra-attachment portion and the upper spacer support for compressively resisting compressive loading of the disc.
