Abstract: A medical device for implantation in a knee joint of a human patient is provided. The medical device comprises: an inner surface and an outer surface. The inner surface comprises: a first point, a second point, a third point, a fourth point, a fifth point, and a sixth point, all points located on different places along a length axis of said inner surface. A first straight line, reaching from the first point to the second point is parallel to a second straight line reaching from the third point to the fourth point, which in turn is parallel to a third straight line reaching from the fifth point to the sixth point. The first and third straight lines are of equal length and the second straight line is longer than the first, furthermore the third straight line is positioned between the first and third straight lines. Wherein the medical device comprises a first articulating surface adapted replaced the surface of the contacting surface of the medial condyle, a second articulating surface adapted to replace the contacting surface of the lateral condyle and a third articulating surface adapted to replace the contacting surface of the patella.

Abstract: A knee-joint endoprosthesis includes a tibia component for proximal fixation to a tibia. The tibia component has a form-fitting section arranged on an upper face. The endoprosthesis also has a meniscus component configured to articulate with a femoral joint component. The meniscus component has a complementary form-fitting section arranged on a lower face. The tibia component and the meniscus component are joined together by a form-fitting connection formed between the form-fitting section and the complementary form-fitting section. At least one reinforcement element is inserted into the meniscus component and is configured to mechanically reinforce the form-fitting joint connection. The reinforcing element is arranged in the region of the complementary form-fitting section.

Abstract: The present invention provides an expandable fusion device capable of being installed inside an intervertebral disc space to maintain normal disc spacing and restore spinal stability, thereby facilitating an intervertebral fusion. In one embodiment, the fusion device includes a body portion, a first endplate, and a second endplate, the first and second endplates capable of being moved in a direction away from the body portion into an expanded configuration or capable of being moved towards the body portion into an unexpanded configuration. The fusion device is capable of being deployed and installed in both configurations.

Abstract: An implant includes a housing; a blade having a retracted position in the housing and an extended position where the blade extends outwardly from the housing; and a blade actuating component comprising a driven shaft portion and a blade engaging portion. The blade actuating component can move the blade between the retracted position and the extended position. In addition, the blade engaging portion of the blade actuating component has a substantially U-shaped configuration defined at least in part by a superior surface and an inferior surface. Also, when the blade is in the extended position, the superior surface of the blade engaging portion of the blade actuating component is substantially flush with a superior surface of the housing, and the inferior surface of the blade engaging portion of the blade actuating component is substantially flush with an inferior surface of the housing.

Abstract: A spinal implant includes a first member having a wall that defines an axial cavity. A second member extends between a first end and a second end and defines a longitudinal axis. The second member is configured for disposal with the axial cavity and translation relative to the first member. A third member has an outer surface engageable with tissue and an inner surface disposed to dynamically engage the first end in response to the engagement of the outer surface with the tissue. Abstract: Intervertebral implants for implanting into an intervertebral space are provided. The implants can comprise one or more layers that are operably attached to one another. An implant can comprise a first layer having a first mating surface that mates with a second mating surface of a second layer. The first mating surface and the second mating surface can have features that allow them to complement each other. The implants can include one or more bore holes for receiving a fixation member. The bore holes can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal. In some cases, the bore holes will be blind bore holes.

Abstract: Systems and tools for inserting and securing an implant within the intervertebral space. An intervertebral disc implant with upper and lower bearing members with an articulation interface between the members for providing relative motion therebetween. The implant may be provided with various securing members for fixing the implant within the intervertebral space. A tool may be used to insert the implant, which includes a plurality of shiftable implant engaging members that are shiftable between non-engaging and engaging configurations to alternatively release or hold the implant.
