An electronic device includes a display device, at least one camera, a memory in which a plurality of applications are stored, and a processor configured to be operatively connected to the display device, the at least one camera, and the memory. The processor is configured to execute the plurality of applications, detect a designated gesture input based on image data acquired using the at least one camera while executing the plurality of applications, determine a type of the detected gesture input, determine a first application among the plurality of executed applications based on the determined type of the gesture input, and execute a first function of the determined first application based on the determined type of the gesture input.

An electronic device and method are disclosed. The electronic device includes: a display, a processor, input circuitry, and memory. The processor may implement the method, including: executing an avatar service application as part of a video avatar mode, and displaying a user interface of the avatar service application, including a plurality of screen setting categories, detecting selection of a first screen setting category from among the plurality, and based on the detected selection, displaying an avatar video list including a plurality of avatar videos, and based on detecting selection of a first avatar video among the avatar video list, applying the first avatar video to a screen of the selected first screen setting category, wherein each avatar video is composed based on a template combined with at least a sound, a background, and an arrangement of a stored digital avatar as recommended for a first animation.

An interface connected to an external sensor package including at least one sensor. A processor that when the external sensor package is connected through the interface, determines from which group the external sensor package is included in among pre-configured groups and controls the performance of a function corresponding to the determined group.

A method and an apparatus for processing audio data that controls pressure of a played sound to improve a quality of audio are provided. The method for processing audio in a mobile terminal includes: receiving the audio from a microphone; calculating by a controller a sound pressure level of the received audio; determining a sound pressure state of the received audio based on the calculated sound pressure level; and controlling an input gain of the audio based on the determination result.

The method involves receiving an input command, such as a selection of an item on a screen, and in response, items currently arranged or to be arranged within one screen are classified into a specific item and one or more other items. The specific item is then displayed in a temporally different manner than the one or more other items.
