Abstract: It is disclosed a method of producing a yarn having the look and feel of natural fibers, the method comprising the steps of preparing a first plurality of man-made textile fibers or a second plurality of natural textile fibers, the first and second plurality of textile fibers being obtained from breaking the first or the second textile fibers under the effect of a mechanical force applied to the first or the second textile fibers. A final blend for producing the yarn, can be prepared by adding the first plurality of textile fibers to a plurality of man-made fibers, or by adding the second plurality of textile fibers to a plurality of man-made fibers, or by adding the first plurality of textile fibers to the second plurality of textile fibers.

Abstract: A fabric having a first side and a second side and comprising weft yarns and warp yarns woven together in pattern. At least some of the weft, or warp, yarns float over a number of warp yarns, or weft yarns, and below a number of warp yarns, or weft yarns, to provide weft, or warp, over portions on the first side and under portions on the second side. The under portions and/or over portions of the yarns form loops. At least some of the yarns that form the loops are conjugate yarns comprising a plurality of filaments that are separable, i.e., splittable into sub-filaments. The loops of the conjugate yarns extend for a length of at least three adjacent warp, or weft, yarns.

It is further disclosed a touch sensor (10) comprising at least one composite yarn (1) according to anyone of the previous claims, and a detection device (5) configured to evaluate the capacitance values (CR, CC) of the electrically resistive yarn (3) and of the electrically conductive yarn (2) of said composite yarn (1), said detection device (5) being configured to calculate the ratio (CR/CC) between said capacitance values (CR, CC) of the electrically resistive yarn (3) and of the electrically conductive yarn (2) and to provide an output signal (SOUT) indicative of the location of a touch event along said composite yarn (1) in function of said ratio (CR/CC).

Abstract: It is disclosed an electromagnetic shield (1) and a related method for providing electromagnetic shielding wherein the shield comprises a shielding surface provided with a plurality of electrically conductive elements (2), said plurality of electrically conductive elements (2) being electrically connected to a switching assembly (3) configured to switch said electromagnetic shield (1) between an open configuration, wherein said electrically conductive elements (2) are electrically insulated from one another, and a shorted configuration wherein said electrically conductive elements (2) are electrically connected to each other at a common node (C). When the electrically conductive elements (2) of the electromagnetic shield (1) are switched between the open and shorted configurations, a change of the electromagnetic shielding effectiveness (EMSE) occurs. The electromagnetic shield (1) can be used for providing a shielding textile fabric (12), or an article that may comprise the electromagnetic shield (1) in form of a pocket preferably made with the shielding fabric (12).

Abstract: A wearable device and a method are disclosed for determining induced voltage exposure of a human body to low voltage fluctuations or induced static electricity variation on human body. The wearable device includes conductive elements which form at least part of an antenna and comprises an RF-to-DC converter connected to the conductive elements of the wearable device for harvesting RF energy and induced static electricity variation at the input in the form of an AC voltage (Vin), while the RF-to-DC converter provides a DC voltage (Vout) at the output. The wearable device also comprises a control unit connected to the output of the RF-to-DC converter to determine the induced voltage exposure of a device wearer's body.

The circumferential portion surrounds a wearer's body part (66) and includes degrees of compression that vary at different locations (12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22, 24, 26), along the axial direction (62). The geometric cuts produce non-linear edges (6A, 6B, 8A, 8B) and are made to provide different circumferential lengths (12F, 14F, 16F, 18F, 20F, 22F, 24F, 26F) of fabric that produce desired compression levels at various axial locations, and are calculated using formulas and algorithms that take into account various factors relating to the fabric and the garment being formed.
