Abstract: Maleic anhydride is made from n-butane or n-butene in a tubular reactor having an undivided reaction zone which contains two different catalysts-the first catalyst converts at least part of the n-butane or n-butene to butadiene and the second catalyst converts at least part of this product to maleic anhydride.
