Abstract: A display apparatus may include a display panel including a plurality of light emitting diode (LED) pixels; a panel driver configured to provide a driving signal to the display panel to drive the display panel; a memory storing heating characteristic information of each of a red (R) sub-pixel, a green (G) sub-pixel, and a blue (B) sub-pixel included in each of the plurality of LED pixels; and a processor configured to: obtain an average brightness value corresponding to an input image based on a gray level value of the input image, obtain heating estimation data of the input image based on the gray level value of the input image and the heating characteristic information stored in the memory, modify the obtained average brightness value based on the heating estimation data, and control the panel driver based on the modified average brightness value.

Abstract: Provided are an image display device and a method of operating the same. The image display device includes a backlight unit configured to emit light towards a display panel. The image display device includes an illuminance sensor configured to obtain illuminance information associated with an area that is external to the image display device. The image display device includes a memory configured to store one or more instructions, and a processor configured to execute the one or more instructions stored in the memory to identify a plurality of backlight control patterns, select a backlight control pattern based on the illuminance information, identify brightness information of a current frame, and adjust the brightness of the backlight unit based on the selected backlight control pattern and the brightness information of the current frame.

Abstract: An electronic apparatus includes a sensor configured to obtain illuminance values, a display, at least one processor, and at least one memory, and the memory stores instructions set for the processor to obtain illuminance values for a predetermined period by controlling the sensor, adjust at least one brightness change threshold value to change brightness of the display in accordance with the obtained illuminance values for the predetermined period and change the brightness of the display using the adjusted brightness change threshold value.
