Abstract:
A method and a User Equipment (UE) for identifying fake 3G/LTE networks is disclosed. The method includes starting a timer corresponding to an authentication failure; determining if a fresh request for authentication is received from a network; checking if there is an authentication failure in a lower layer if the fresh request is not received from the network; stopping the timer if there is the authentication failure in the lower layer; updating a count value for the authentication; comparing the count value with a pre-set value; and barring a cell if the count value is greater than the pre-set value.
Abstract:
A method and system for minimizing delay in circuit-switched fallback (CSFB) procedure is disclosed. The disclosed method provides two different approaches for optimizing the delay during the CSFB procedure. In the first approach, user equipment (UE) receives a Location Area Identifier (LAD along with the Radio Access Technology (RAT) information from the network (LTE network). The UE uses the received RAT information from the network for switching to the target Radio Access Network (RAN) without intimating to the LTE network. In another approach, the UE obtains the RAT information by performing a background scan in idle mode, when the UE receives LAI without RAT information from the network.
Abstract:
A wireless communication method supporting a Rich Communication Suite (RCS) service, the method including performing an RCS provision operation corresponding to an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) application in response to an RCS service request of the OEM application, transmitting an RCS function connection request to a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) transport layer after the RCS provision operation is completed, controlling a session for an RCS function based on the RCS function connection request to obtain a dedicated bearer, and exchanging RCS media data with a network through the dedicated bearer.
Abstract:
Methods and User Equipment (UE) for managing IMS call over LTE in SRVCC area are provided. The method may include detecting, by an IMS client, that the IMS call over LTE is in an alert state, and a Radio Resource Control (RRC) reconfiguration cells are configured for the IMS call over LTE. Further, the method may include initiating by the IMS client a timer with a value less than a data inactivity timer value from a network entity. Further, the method may include detecting by IMS client that the timer has expired before establishing the IMS call over LTE and restarting by the IMS client the timer. Furthermore, the method may include sending by the IMS client a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) message to the network entity.
Abstract:
Methods for improving registration for VoLTE devices in LTE networks are provided. One method for improving registration for VoLTE devices in LTE networks includes the steps of transmitting, by a user equipment (UE), a first Packet Data Network (PDN) connectivity request to a first PDN Gateway (PGW) for establishing a connectivity with a first PDN; verifying, by a Mobility Management Entity (MME), if the first PDN connectivity request is accepted by the first PGW; creating, by the UE, a second PDN connectivity request to a second PGW for establishing a connectivity with a second PDN if the first PGW rejects the first PDN connectivity request; and establishing connectivity with the second PDN for enabling VoLTE Services if the second PGW accepts the second PDN connectivity request.
