Abstract:
Embodiments of the inventive concept herein provide a method and User Equipment (UE) for handling PLMN selection involving Proximity Based Services (ProSe) communication. The method includes detecting one of a PLMN selection due to the ProSe communication followed by a manual Closed Subscriber Group (CSG) cell selection, and a manual CSG cell selection followed by the PLMN selection due to the ProSe communication, when the UE has stored a duplicate value of a Registered PLMN (RPLMN) and a duplicate of a PLMN selection mode. Further, the method includes preserving the stored duplicate value of the RPLMN and a stored duplicate of the PLMN selection mode.
Abstract:
A method is provided for completing a registration procedure in a fifth generation (5G) network, comprising transmitting, by a user equipment (UE), a registration request message to the 5G network, the registration request message initiating a first registration procedure, starting, by the UE, a connection release timer in response to occurrence of a plurality of events; meeting, by the UE, at least one of a plurality of conditions; stopping, by the UE, the connection release timer in response to the meeting the at least one of the plurality of conditions; and performing, by the UE, a local release of a signaling connection in response to the meeting the at least one of the plurality of conditions if the UE is in a connected state.
Abstract:
A method for selecting a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) in a wireless communication system by a User Equipment (UE), the method includes detecting, by the UE, that the UE is operating in an interworking mode, triggering, by the UE, a manual scan in the interworking mode for acquiring a list of PLMNs in the wireless communication system, and causing, by the UE, a display to output the list of PLMNs in response to the triggering.
Abstract:
A method for accessing one or more services by a User Equipment (UE) in a multi-Radio Access Technology (multi-RAT) network, includes: receiving, from applications associated with the UE, a request to access at least one of services or slices within the multi-RAT network; based on the received request and mapping information, determining at least one of RATs or Subscription Permanent Identifiers (SUPIs). The mapping information indicates a relationship between slices and at least one of RATs associated with networks within the multi-RAT network and SUPIs stored at the UE; and based on the determined at least one of RATs, and the SUPIs to access the requested at least one of the services or the slices, establishing a connection with at least one of the networks within the multi-RAT network.
Abstract:
A performed by a User Equipment (UE) for managing a failure in a registration for accessing a network slice. The method includes sending a registration request message to a first wireless network while the UE is in a tracking area of a registration area, the registration request message including a Single Network Slice Selection Assistance Information (S-NSSAI) corresponding to the network slice, receiving a registration reject message from the first wireless network, the registration reject message indicating that the network slice is unavailable in one of the registration area, a Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN), or a Stand-alone Non-Public Network (SNPN), storing a Tracking Area Identifier (TAI) of the tracking area to a rejected list based on the TAI of the tracking area being included the registration reject message, and establishing a connection with a second wireless network in response to the receiving.
Abstract:
Methods are provided for recovering from abnormal scenarios that cause release of a connection between network and UE including, detecting an interruption of a Radio Resource (RR) connection with a first PLMN associated with at least one first parameter, the interruption resulting in a loss of access to at least one type of service from the first PLMN, adding the at least one first parameter, the at least one type of service, and a defined time period to a list for the defined time period, and detecting a second PLMN associated with at least one second parameter within the defined time period, the second PLMN providing access to the at least one type of service, the at least one second parameter being different from the at least one first parameter.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for handling Internet protocol (IP) multimedia subsystem (IMS) and circuit switch fall back (CSFB) calls at a user equipment (UE) in a wireless network. A non-access stratum (NAS) of the UE receives an IMS indication when an IMS call is initiated at the UE. The NAS determines a state of the UE. The NAS performs an action based on the state of the UE to trigger one of the IMS call and a CSFB call.
Abstract:
A method for connecting to a Registered Public Land Mobile Network (RPLMN) after receiving an accept message with limited service from a user selected CSG cell, which is associated to a different PLMN than the RPLMN during manual CSG selection mode is disclosed. The method includes connecting to the RPLMN based on the availability of the user selected CSG cell in UTRAN. If the user selected CSG cell is not available in UTRAN, then the method includes connecting to the RPLMN by the UE using the stored duplicate value of the RPLMN. If the user selected CSG cell is available in UTRAN, then the method includes sending an ATTACH request to the user selected CSG cell without disabling the EUTRA capabilities. If the ATTACH request is failed, then the method includes connecting to the RPLMN using the stored duplicate value of the RPLMN.
Abstract:
The present subject matter refers to methods and systems for managing paging restriction in Multi SIM Multi Standby (MUSIM). The method performed by a user equipment (UE) (101) comprises transmitting (202), to a network entity (106), a request message including paging restriction information. Further, the method includes receiving (204), from the network entity, a request accept message including an indication of an implementation of a paging restriction between the network entity and the UE based on the paging restriction information included in the registration request message. Thereafter, the method includes transmitting, to the network entity, a release request message including information related to a release of the paging restriction for the UE when the UE intend to receive paging messages from the network entity. Moreover, in response to a reception of the release request message, the network entity releases the paging restriction for the UE.
