Abstract:
An apparatus and method for printing by using a toolbar button is provided. The apparatus includes a user interface for receiving printing options to be selected by using the toolbar button, and a controller for creating the toolbar button to allow a user to print the file based on a selected printing option and inserting the created toolbar button into a host application. Accordingly, the user can print the file by setting a desired printer and printing option by using the toolbar button without using an additional user interface.
Abstract:
A multi-sensing touch panel and a display apparatus using the same are provided. The multi-sensing touch panel includes: a touch pad including an input surface; at least one infrared ray source which irradiates infrared rays to the touch pad; and a camera array including a plurality of infrared ray cameras which are disposed below the touch pad and inclined with respect to a plane of the input surface.

A numerical aperture (NA) controlling unit and a variable optical probe including the same are provided. The NA controlling unit includes: an aperture adjustment unit which controls an aperture through which light is transmitted; and a focus control unit that is disposed in a predetermined position with respect to the aperture adjustment unit, that focuses light transmitted through the aperture, and that has an adjustable focal length. The variable optical probe includes: a light transmission unit; a collimator that collimates light transmitted through the light transmission unit into parallel light; an NA controlling unit that focuses light on a sample to be inspected; and a scanner that varies a path of light transmitted through the light transmission unit such that a predetermined region of the sample is scanned by light that passes through the NA controlling unit.
Abstract:
A liquid optical lens which changes a focus due to a change in a shape of a translucent elastic membrane according to a change in a fluid pressure of a lens chamber and a manufacturing method thereof are provided. The liquid optical lens forms a dampproof coating membrane on the translucent elastic membrane to prevent a fluid from permeating through the translucent elastic membrane and a swelling phenomenon of the translucent elastic membrane.
Abstract:
A variable-focus liquid lens is provided. The liquid lens includes a membrane and a fluid. The membrane is made of a transparent elastomer, and the fluid fills a predetermined space to contact at least a lens surface of the membrane. The membrane and the fluid are respectively made of materials repulsive to each other, for example, hydrophilic and hydrophobic materials or oleophilic and oleophobic materials. Accordingly, a repulsive force between the fluid and the membrane can prevent the absorption or leaking of the fluid into/through the membrane.
Abstract:
An electroactive polymer actuator and a method for manufacturing the electroactive polymer actuator are provided. The electroactive polymer actuator includes an actuator unit which is a laminate of a plurality of deformation layers; and a support layer which supports the actuator unit so that the actuator unit provides displacement corresponding to a voltage if the voltage is applied to the actuator unit. Therefore, it is possible to provide an electroactive polymer actuator suitable for a compact mobile device with a low driving voltage.
Abstract:
A curvature control device includes a first fluid that has a light transmitting property and a polar property; a second fluid that has a light transmitting property; a chamber that the first fluid and the second fluid are accommodated without being mixed with each other, wherein a boundary surface between the first fluid and the second fluid comprises a first surface that is a lens surface and a second surface that induces a change in a curvature of the first surface; a first intermediate plate that is disposed in the chamber, and includes a first through-hole that forms a diameter of a lens corresponding to the first surface and a second through-hole that forms a path of the second fluid; and an electrode portion configured to generate an electric field that changes a position of the second surface.
Abstract:
A varifocal lens structure and a method of manufacturing the same, the varifocal lens structure including: a frame having a fluid chamber filled with an optical fluid and formed of polymethylsiloxane (PDMS) containing a predetermined fluid; a transparent cover disposed on a top surface of the frame so as to cover the fluid chamber; a transparent elastic membrane disposed on a bottom surface of the frame so as to form a lower wall of the fluid chamber; and an actuator disposed on the elastic membrane.
Abstract:
A varifocal lens structure, a method of manufacturing the varifocal lens structure, an optical lens module, and a method of manufacturing the optical lens module. The varifocal lens structure includes a liquid lens unit including a silicone membrane that includes a first silicone elastomer, a polymer actuator disposed on an upper surface of the silicone membrane, and an adhesive silicone layer that is disposed between the silicone membrane and the polymer actuator and includes a second silicone elastomer.
Abstract:
A zoom lens module and an endoscope system including the zoom lens module are disclosed. The zoom lens module includes: a first liquid lens; a second liquid which is disposed separated from the first liquid lens; and an aperture disposed between the first and second liquid lenses. A respective focal distance of each of the first liquid lens and the second liquid lens is adjustable based on a change of at least one of the respective curvature thereof and the respective thickness thereof.
