Disclosed herein is an information processor that allows for manipulation of raw data to a certain extent with an application program while protecting the content of raw data. The information processor acquires encrypted media data, decodes the encrypted media data to generate raw data, scrambles the raw data to generate scrambled data, descrambles the scrambled data to generate the raw data, and outputs the raw data to a player.

A comment data acquisition unit acquires comment data for display over a display image, and a superimposition processing unit 162 generates a superimposition image from the comment data. The comment data includes a scaling factor or information related to the scaling factor, and a display requirement determination unit determines whether the scaling factor of the display image and either a scaling factor or information related to the scaling factor included in comment data are in a predetermined relationship. When the scaling factor of the display image and either the scaling factor or the information related to the scaling factor included in the comment data are in the predetermined relationship, a superimposition image generation unit generates a comment image using display information included in the comment data.

A moving image reproduction apparatus is provided with a reproduction unit that decodes pictures included in a chunk of a video stream and displays the decoded pictures and a control unit that gives an instruction to start the reproduction process. When a reproduction target is switched to a second video stream that corresponds to a second bit rate during the reproduction of a first video stream that corresponds to a first bit rate, the reproduction unit continues to reproduce a chunk of the first video stream that is being reproduced. The control unit instructs, when pictures included in a chunk of the second video stream overlap with pictures included in the chunk that is being reproduced, the reproduction unit to hide the overlapping pictures in a reproduction process performed on the chunk of the second video stream.
