Abstract: A handle assembly for an autonomous vehicle such as a lawn mower is provided and may include a cradle adapted to receive a mobile computer. The handle assembly may be configured in both an autonomous mode position and a manual mode position. The vehicle may operate autonomously when the handle assembly is in the autonomous mode position, and be adapted to move under manual operator control, e.g., for perimeter training, when the handle assembly is in the manual mode position.

Abstract: A handle assembly for an autonomous vehicle such as a lawn mower is provided and may include a cradle adapted to receive a mobile computer. The mobile computer may communicate with a controller carried by the mower. The handle assembly may be configured in both an autonomous mode position and a manual mode position. The vehicle may operate autonomously when the handle assembly is in the autonomous mode position, and be adapted to move under manual operator control, e.g., for perimeter training, when the handle assembly is in the manual mode position. Methods for training the mower and apparatus for storing the mower are also provided.

The deck can include an upper wall and downwardly extending sidewalls forming a cutting chamber. The vehicle may include a cutting blade assembly contained within the cutting chamber. A distance between the cutting blade assembly and a trim edge of the mower deck can be changed.

Abstract: Aspects relate to an autonomous ground working vehicle. The vehicle has a chassis, wheels coupled to the chassis, a motor housing coupled to the chassis, a tool motor, and a tool. The motor housing defines a motor cavity extending in an axial direction and has a first inner housing portion having a first helical thread about the motor cavity and a second inner housing portion having a second helical thread about the motor cavity that engages the first helical thread. The first inner housing portion has a motor mounting surface and is axially translatable relative to the chassis and rotatably fixed relative to the chassis. The second inner housing portion is rotatable relative to the chassis and axially fixed relative to the chassis. The tool motor is fixed to the motor mounting surface and has an output shaft extending in a first direction. The tool is fixed to the output shaft.
