    Abstract: Apparatus and methodology for lawn mower security systems provide the ability to safeguard ride-on style lawn mowers against unauthorized cranking of its engine if the mowers have push/pull mower deck or power-takeoff (PTO) switch technology. Security components secured to a PTO or mower deck switch to prevent the ability to position such switch in a disengaged position. Therefore, existing safety and interlock features of the existing ride-on mower otherwise prevent someone from being able to crank the mower, which helps to guard against unauthorized use and/or theft of the equipment.

    Abstract: Various embodiments of a cutting deck assembly and a grounds maintenance vehicle that includes such assembly. The assembly includes a top surface and a sidewall extending from the top surface. The top surface and the sidewall partially surround a first cutting chamber and a second cutting chamber. The assembly further includes a channel disposed adjacent a rear portion of the sidewall and extending along a channel axis between a first end and a second end of the channel, where the first end of the channel is connected to an outlet of the first cutting chamber; and a ramp disposed at least partially within the channel and adjacent the second end of the channel. The ramp includes a directing surface that is adapted to deflect at least a portion of clippings that enter the channel from the outlet of the first cutting chamber.

    Abstract: A device for controlling the discharge of clippings from a chute in a mowing deck of a rotary lawn mower includes a mounting bracket secured to the rotary lawn mower a distance from the mower deck and a flap pivotally attached to the mower deck. The device includes a connecting member having a first end fixedly secured to the flap and a second end supported by the mounting bracket wherein the connecting member is sufficiently flexible to be formed into a selected configuration and sufficiently rigid to retain the selected configuration during use. The device includes a handle non-rotatably secured to the connecting member proximate the second end wherein when downward, rotational manual force is placed upon the handle, the force is transferred to the flap such that sufficient rotational force is applied thereto to move the flap to a first position that substantially covers a discharge chute on the mover deck to substantially prevent the discharge of clipping and wherein when an upward, rotational force is placed upon the handle an upward rotational force is placed upon the flap which causes the flap to rotate away from the discharge chute to a second position where the discharge port is substantially unobstructed by the flap.

    Abstract: A self-driving work apparatus has a chassis, at least one tool and a hood. The hood is movably mounted on the chassis via at least one bearing. The bearing allows a movement of the hood relative to the chassis in a vertical direction in the park position and in a horizontal direction. The bearing has a support which is pivotably connected to the hood and has a first support surface which rests on a second support surface of the chassis. A reference axis of the support pivots about a pivot angle when the support pivots from a rest position into a maximally tilted position. At least one of the support surfaces is formed convex such that the first support surface rolls on the second support surface at least in a partial angular region when the first support surface pivots about a horizontal pivot axis.
