This method generates a dither matrix for determining a status of dot formation on each of print pixels of a print image to be formed on a print medium in response to input image data. The method comprising: determining a targeted threshold value from among a plurality of threshold values, the targeted threshold value having a highest tendency for dot formation to be On among threshold values for which storage elements are to be determined; determining a storage element for the targeted threshold value from among a plurality of candidate storage elements based on a matrix evaluation value, the matrix evaluation value representing a correlation with a prescribed objective state, the matrix evaluation value being calculated respectively on a presupposition of hypothetical dot On/Off states, the hypothetical dot On/Off states resulting from the targeted threshold value being stored in each of the plurality of candidate storage elements that are candidates for storing the targeted threshold value; and repeating the determining the targeted threshold value and the determining the storage element for at least part of the plurality of threshold values.     摘要: There is provided a printing apparatus having a nozzle row in a sub scanning direction; a halftone processing unit comparing each threshold value of a dither mask with image data; and a printing unit controlling ejection of ink from each nozzle by using a result of the halftone process. Here, a constant correspondence relationship is set between each position in a minimal repetition unit of a nozzle pattern and each threshold value of the dither mask applied to the each position. The dither mask includes at least one side of nozzles on both ends of the nozzle row or frontmost-end nozzles on both ends of the nozzle row in a print area having a predetermined range of an ink duty ratio. In addition, the plurality of threshold values are set such that a use ratio of front-end nozzles is lower than a use ratio of middle nozzles.

The color conversion table is used to distribute the reference color image data over a prescribed area in a specified color space. Further, a color conversion table is created using an original table which highly accurately defines colors in part of the table. If such color conversion tables are referenced for color conversion, it is possible to suppress the storage capacity, provide color matching, and perform high accuracy color conversion.
