Abstract: A sewage treatment apparatus having an input tank with mixing and screen filtering means for receiving liquid waste such as raw sewage. The level of liquid waste in the input tank controls a timer which activates a valve to release the screened sewage into a filter centrifuge for rapidly separating liquids and solids in the liquid waste. The solids separated are burned and vacuumed from the filter centrifuge following filtering of the liquid through a filter medium located in the centrifuge. A high speed perforated drum centrifuge is lined with a filter material such as sand and the drum may have vanes on its periphery to form an impeller to act in conjunction with a diffuser casing to form a centrifugal pump integral with the filter.

Abstract: An advanced liquid waste treatment process is provided for treating sewage and other liquid waste and having steps including centrifuging the waste through filter mediums to remove solids from the effluent both before and after lagooning the effluent to remove soluble phosphates, nitrates, and the like. The solids removed during the filtration are burned and the final effluent may be sterilized such as by the addition of chlorine.

Abstract: A centrifuge filter apparatus for filtering fluids is provided having a centrifuge drum with a filter medium along its periphery so that when the drum is rotated, fluids will be directed against and through the filter medium and through perforations in the periphery of the drum. A stream of air is intermittently directed against material accumulating on the filter medium for loosening the material and a vacuum is used to remove the loosened material for periodic cleaning of the filter. A stream of fluid may be directed from the outside of the periphery of the drum to assist in loosening accumulated materials trapped by the filter and the bottom of the drum may be perforated and lined with filter material for fluids to pass through when the periphery filter material is clogged. The air stripping jet is adapted to move closer to the periphery wall of the centrifuge drum when stripping materials and a novel combination vacuum seal and brake for the centrifuge drum is provided.

Abstract: Food elevating apparatus comprises a hopper for holding articles to be elevated in liquid suspension. An aspiration chamber having an outlet is included, with a lift tube communicating at one end with a hopper and at the other end with the aspiration chamber. A venturi nozzle extends into the aspiration chamber opposite the outlet and adjacent the other end of the tube, and means are included for pumping a fluid through the nozzle whereby the liquid suspended articles are drawn through the tube and out of the chamber.
