A filter element is removably positionable within a filter housing that includes a standpipe extending therewithin and provided with a flow control valve. The filter element comprises a tubular filter media, a first end cap, a second end cap longitudinally spaced from the first end cap, and a center tube extending between the first and second end caps. The center tube has a substantially cylindrical body extending between opposite first and second ends of the center tube. The center tube has at least one inlet opening formed on the cylindrical body and a standpipe opening at the second end thereof adjacent to the second end cap through which the standpipe may be inserted longitudinally into the center tube. The center tube further has at least one actuator key provided to open the flow control valve of the standpipe.

Abstract:
A filter subassembly is disclosed. The filter subassembly includes an end cap connected to a ring of memory material. The end cap includes a tube-shaped body, a first ring-shaped body, a second ring-shaped body and a third ring-shaped body. The tube-shaped body is defined by an inner radial surface, an outer radial surface, a first axial surface and a second axial surface. The inner radial surface defines a passage extending through the tube-shaped body. The first ring-shaped body extends axially away from the first axial surface of the tube-shaped in a first axial direction. The second ring-shaped body extends axially away from a second axial surface of the tube-shaped body in a second axial direction that is opposite the first axial direction. The third ring-shaped body extends axially away from the second axial surface of the tube-shaped body in the second axial direction that is opposite the first axial direction. Each of the first ring-shaped body, the second ring-shaped body and the third ring-shaped body are defined by an inner radial surface, an outer radial surface and an axial surface that connects the inner radial surface to the outer radial surface. One or both of the first axial surface of the tube-shaped body and the inner radial surface of the first ring-shaped body is disposed adjacent the ring of memory material. The second axial surface of the tube-shaped body, the inner radial surface of the second ring-shaped body and the outer radial surface of the third ring-shaped body collectively define a ring-shaped filter media receiving channel. A filer assembly is also disclosed. An assembly is also disclosed. A filter is also disclosed. A method is also disclosed.

Abstract:
One aspect of the disclosure provides a filter element including a first end cap, a second end cap, a ring of filter media and an annular seal. The first end cap defines a cylindrical collar that circumscribes a first central opening and includes a substantially planar first outer surface that extends radially outward from the cylindrical collar to an outer peripheral edge. The second end cap defines a second central opening substantially coaxial with the first central opening. The ring of filter media is disposed between the first end cap and the second end cap, and circumscribes a central cavity in fluid communication with the first central opening and the second central opening. The annular seal is disposed upon the first outer surface of the first end cap and around the cylindrical collar. The annular seal extends axially way from the first outer surface.
