    摘要： Systems and methods comprising using a filter element assembly. The methods comprise: placing a first sealing member in a channel formed in a first collar piece which has a first filter element coupled thereto; inserting a second filter element coupled to a second collar piece through the input orifice of the first collar piece and into the first filter element; causing the first collar piece to snap-fit engage a flange of the second collar piece; using the first sealing member to provide a seal between the first and second collar pieces which are snap-fit engaged with one another; receiving a fluid in an input orifice of the second collar piece; performing a first-stage filtering process using the second filter element to remove contaminants from the fluid; and performing a subsequent second-stage filtering process using the first filter element to further remove contaminants from the fluid.

    摘要： A regenerative filter that includes a filter housing having inlet and outlet zones; a fluid path provided between the inlet and outlet zones; a plurality of filter elements each having an outer surface filter media applied thereto and functioning to filter particulate or contaminants from the fluid path. The filter elements are disposed in an monolithic array. An inlet port arrangement is disposed at the filter housing leading to the inlet zone and is constructed and arranged to direct the fluid path into the filter housing in a manner so as to maintain a controlled turbulence at the inlet zone. The inlet port arrangement comprises a pair of inlet ports that are arranged in juxtaposition at the inlet zone and each having one end where the fluid flow enters. Embodiments that are considered as falling under the scope of the present invention include 1. Single inlet/two or more outlets; 2. Two or more inlets/single outlet, or 3. Two or more inlets and two or more outlets.

The cylindrical filter medium extends circumferentially about a longitudinal axis of the filter assembly. The cylindrical filter medium forms a filter passage extending from the first filter end to the second filter end. The top cap is disposed on the cylindrical filter medium at the first filter end. The top cap includes an inner diameter ring, an outer diameter ring, and an interior packing. The inner diameter ring forms a first filter outlet passage coincident with the filter passage. The inner diameter ring includes a first set of locking tabs. The outer diameter ring radially circumscribes the cylindrical filter medium.

The cooperating geometry includes an axial retention mechanism for maintaining an attachment between the canister and the end closure.
