    Abstract: A non-rectangular shape display panel comprises a non-rectangular shape display region and a non-display region. The non-rectangular shape display region includes a plurality of pixels arranged in both a row direction and a column direction. A pixel includes at least three sub-pixels of different colors, a first color sub-pixel having a first color filter, a second color sub-pixel having a second color filter, and a third color sub-pixel having a third color filter. The non-rectangular shape display region includes at least one irregular edge intersecting the row direction and the column direction. The pixels intersecting the at least one irregular edge are first pixels and the remained pixels are second pixels. A first pixel is divided by the at least one irregular edge into a first light-transmitting region configured in the non-rectangular shape display region and a first light-shielding region shielded by a black matrix.

    Abstract: Display panel and display device are provided. The display panel includes: a first substrate, a second substrate, and a liquid crystal layer between the first substrate and the second substrate. The first substrate includes a first base substrate and an optical sensor disposed on the first base substrate. The second substrate includes a second base substrate, a black matrix disposed on the second base substrate, and a light collecting structure disposed on a side of the black matrix adjacent to the first substrate. The optical sensor and the light collecting structure overlap each other in a direction perpendicular to the display panel. The light collecting structure includes at least one transparent protrusion protruded along a direction perpendicular to a surface of the first or second substrate and from the second substrate to the first substrate. The light collecting structure has a refractive index larger than the liquid crystal layer.

    Abstract: A profiled display panel and a display device are provided. A display region of the profiled display panel has a profiled border. The profiled display panel includes a plurality of pixels including low-brightness pixels and regular pixels. Brightness of the low-brightness pixels is lower than brightness of the regular pixels under same driving voltage. The plurality of pixels forms a plurality of pixel rows extending in first direction and a plurality of pixel columns extending in second direction. Each of the pixel rows or the pixel columns includes at least one pixel group including the low-brightness pixels at one end of the pixel group and the regular pixels at the other end, and the regular pixels are arranged away from the profiled border. An aperture area of the respective low-brightness pixels in same pixel group is gradually increased in direction from the profiled border to the display region.

    Abstract: The present disclosure relates to a backlight module, a method for manufacturing the backlight module, and a display device. The backlight module includes a substrate, a plurality of LED chips, and a first film having a plurality of channels. Each channel is filled with a channel filling portion. A refractive index n1 of the first film is smaller than a refractive index of the channel filling portion is n2. The first film has a first region and second region. Channels in the first region are astigmatism holes for diverging the light having a high intensity and channels in the second region are light-converging holes for converging the light having a low intensity, thereby alleviating or eliminating the starry phenomenon.

    Abstract: An irregular display panel and a display device are provided. A display region has an irregular boundary. The display panel includes low-luminance pixels, and normal pixels arranged away from the irregular boundary. The pixel rows and/or the pixel columns include pixel groups each including a first pixel group and a second pixel group. The number of pixels adjacent to the irregular boundary in the first pixel group is greater than that in the second pixel group, and the number of low-luminance pixels of the first pixel group is greater than or equal to that of the second pixel group. The pixel includes at least three sub pixels each including an electrode having at least one slit. The total slit lengths of the low-luminance pixels in a same pixel group increase gradually in a direction from the irregular boundary to the display region.
